If you have the money get the seasons on DVD.
I have all of them on DVD and its one of those shows you can watch....and watch... and watch... and takes a long time to get old...then after it does get old, wait a couple of monthes and BAM, it's sweet again =) |

Hmm I can see that part, with the commotion going on in the background and all. But what's with the repeated #9?
John just started to put loops on backwards, and then started collecting them and making them with Yoko and putting them all together. He got a little obsessed with it The number nine was an engineer saying the number of the track or something, John liked it and threw it in |
Has anyone seen this yet? http://www.petitiononline.com/Imagine/petition.html
That's be awesome if it actually happened. |

That's be awesome if it actually happened.
:lol someone signed it as steve howe. Mayhaps that is his real name. Honestly though, you don't need a petition for this, it just needs to become a tradition like Alice's Restaurant at 12:00 on Thanksgiving Speaking of, my little sister and her friend are going to have a gig and Arlo is going to be there. She couldn't care less though, she isn't practicing. |
while we're on the topic of cartoons and beatles..
Anyone ever seen the episode of Family Guy where Peter is a security guard for George Harrison? (as george harrison is getting mugged and robbed) Peter says "Hey, HEY!, keep it down up there!.....You whacky beatle..." oh haha family guy..
Oh thats a good one lol... |
:lol someone signed it as steve howe.
:amaze: I'm sure there are quite a few Steve Howes in the world. Although he was playing in Yes when John was just going solo so I don't doubt that Steve was a fan. still... |

I think that it would be pointless and wouldn't acomplish much. But I signed anyways. I'll sign anything that involves John Lennon :) |
Dude, get out. If it wasn't for Paul, there would be no Beatles. He was one of the best bassists who ever lived. Listen to the bass lines in Hello, Goodbye, Penny Lane, or just any other song. Listen how he sings and yet plays such a technical bass line at the same time. No one could do that at that time...
Oh, and I disagree that George had the best solo career. Most of his songs were religious and about life. I think that John had the best solo career because his songs were abstract and you had to think about them. He also had the best voice, I think. (Him or Paul.)
You are totally right about how complex Pauls basslines were. He also sang at he same time and did a great job indeed for how those basslines are played. |

A Clash fan interested in complexity, go figure. |
^ I like the clash
^ I like the clash
You would. :p |
I like The Clash. Well, some of their stuff. London Calling is brilliant, but a lot of their stuff sucks.
|
Right now, I love "I Am The Walrus", such a good song.

It is indeed. One of my favorites. Your avatar wins at the intarweb. I just watched that movie for the umpteenth time a couple days ago. I absolutely love Gene Wilder. |

*clears throat* The Beatles=no talent. As I've said many times before bad teeth and haircuts and stupid love songs that make no sense...thank you.

/last time a post in this thread
So are you kidding around? Or are you serious? How should I break down this post. I guess you're an idiot. |
His whole basis for this is that because Avenged Sevenfold is supposedly more talented technically than them, they suck.
It doesn't make any sense at all to me, but then again I'm a pretty smart guy. |

/last time a post in this thread
Dude, you've already raised a stink in the FF thread. Please don't come to my thread making ridiculously ignorant statements. |
1. Their teeth and haircuts have no bearing on their music.
2. They didn't write stupid love songs. Their earlier albums were largely based around love songs and covers, true (although they pretty much revolutionised the purpose of albums from being backups to the single). By Help! their songwriting was really maturing, and moving away from the stereotype you're talking about. 3. No talent? You've got to be kidding me. Phil Collins, drummer of prog band Genesis is on record as saying that Ringo Starr did stuff that drummers now would find very hard to imitate. Paul McCartney was proficient in multiple instruments and revolutionised the role of the bass guitar in modern music. George Harrison is renowned as having one of the best feels for his instrument of the '60s era of music. Please, don't make that your last post in the thread by the way...it's gotten boring over the last few weeks, and this could be quite fun.
ohshi owned. What a stupid thing to say, that the Beatles have no talent  |
^ I like the clash
Hey thanks :thumb: |
When does Paul's tour actually start? I can't wait to hear opinions. I will most likely write a brief review of the show after I go.
|
Me too. He's done very well in the few performances he's given in the last little while. I'm excited to see him.
