Metallica killed Sabbra Cadabra from what I've heard of it.

Josh - True, but the posts about taking painfull poops are rather spam-ish.

ToRidTheDisease 04-04-2005 04:28 PM

Basically just something that no one wants to know about.

Brew 04-04-2005 04:34 PM

Pretty much.

ToRidTheDisease 04-04-2005 04:45 PM

/last non Sabbath thing i'll say

I finally got Angel of Retribution to work, kind of. I'm ripping it with iTunes to my mp3 player.

Brew 04-04-2005 04:47 PM

Groovey.

Its an alright album, Lochness is great.

NP - Tv Crimes

ToRidTheDisease 04-04-2005 04:49 PM

It's probably my favorite Priest album. Not sure why though.

Anyway, back to Sabbath.

How long would you all say Sabbath will be able to get along/tour together?

Brew 04-04-2005 04:51 PM

Original line-up?

Until Ozzy dies.

Any other line-up?

Until Tony Iommi decides to call it a day.

I think after this summer Ozzy is going back to his solo band and I think Iommi wants to go on tour with Glen Hughes so...not sure what'll happen to Sabbath then.

ToRidTheDisease 04-04-2005 04:53 PM

My thoughts are basically the same. I just really hope they don't start making ****ty material. As Ozzy has said though, he won't let that happen.

rippa32 04-05-2005 06:04 AM

It would be good for Dio or Martin to come back. But that will happen only when hell freezes over.

Brew 04-05-2005 07:28 AM

^Or for a Dio re-union, if they sack Geezer and Bill and bring in Vinny and another bass player.

Fun Fact: They actually had Vinny in the band not long after Bill had his heart attack, Vinny's kit was set-up behind Bill's just incase he couldn't cope with touring.

kredkeee! 04-05-2005 12:35 PM

Hi everyone, anyone remember me anymore? Not been here for so long... Didn't have much time/didn't want to spend it here. Pity. As for the question a few posts ago, I would say the same as Lord Brum did. Hmm anyone going to see Sabbath this year live? I have a chance to go to Prague in Czech Republic... (**** they are not going to Katowice in Poland, and Velvet Revolver, who tour with them, do!!!!!!!)...

Madcap. 04-05-2005 01:11 PM

I remember you.

I'm seeing Sabbath at the UK Ozzfest this year

Josh 04-05-2005 03:09 PM

so what do we reckon the setlist will be this summer?

/hasnt got a clue, hasnt heard enough sabbath albums

Brew 04-05-2005 03:24 PM

I did this a few pages ago, I can't be arsed going to find the post though.

Edit: Just look at the Re-Union setlist and work from there...

Why would they sack Geezer? Hes been the bass player every time Dio has sung for Sabbath.

Brew 04-06-2005 07:37 AM

Dio has said that he'd only re-unite with Sabbath if Geezer and Bill weren't there, due to the problems they had with mixing/mastering the Live Evil album.

rippa32 04-07-2005 04:33 AM

I can see youre point but didnt geezer play on the dehuminizer album?

Brew 04-07-2005 09:08 AM

Yep.

Dio quit the De-humanizer tour after decided that Sabbath shouldn't have to open for Ozzy Osbourne's solo band, thats when something must have been said between them to make Dio say that he doesn't want to work with Geezer again.

sabbathfan37 04-07-2005 06:13 PM

I return! (too bad im gonna be gone for 4 days- leaving fri. @ 3:45 am)
I miss anything?

I'm just wondering, I've always wondered if Ozzy and the rest of Sabbath ever really put past their differences and are friends again, or if they just did the reunions anyway. If so I really wish they would write at least one new song together, but that probally won't happen.

rocknroll_ranger 04-07-2005 08:35 PM
So i was looking around at all these "official threads" and noticed someone, no Black Sabbath thread?? I think out of all these bands these guys really need a main thread. They are one of the best rock bands ever. You can discuss anything Black Sabbath in here, but do not spam and flame.

Tony Iommi was the only guitarist in Black Sabbath, and Randy Rhoads had nothing to do with it. Therefore, do not say something like this: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6836385&postcount=3155

I'll start this off by asking, what is your all time favorite Black Sabbath song?
iron man
that is the funnest song to play on bass
ferries wear boots is awesome too

They have written a few songs. Just not enough for an album.

Brew 04-08-2005 10:32 AM

Iron Man is fun to play on bass

Just read this months Classic Rock magazine, they have an interview with Geezer about his new album. He states that its Him who isn't really interested in doing a new Sabbath album, and he talks about Ohmwork and a possible tour of that album with Iommi's solo album at the same time.

Well worth checking out if your English.

shamed-angel 04-08-2005 10:51 AM

I got it too and it's really interesting. But I don't see the prospect of a Sabbath album anymore as one without Geezer would be a novelty IMO.

Brew 04-08-2005 11:00 AM

^Did you read the last page with the quotes on it?

That was great

metallica83 04-08-2005 12:01 PM

Question-
I got the Ozzy Live&Loud DVD last weekend.
When did these gigs shown there happen?
Original Sabbath members play some songs there. Has this been their first time playing together since the past, or has this been between the first reunion shows?

metallica83 04-08-2005 12:02 PM

by the way, Fav. song is after forever

The Live&Loud tour was 1991/1992, the Sabs performed Black Sabbath as a one-off towards the end of the tour. When Ozzy performed Changes it had Zakk Wylde on the piano.

It had been their first re-union since Live Aid in 1985 (or was it 1984? I can never remember) where they played a short set. After the Live&Loud one-off song the original Sabbath line-up didn't play a complete set until 1998/1999, when they did the Re-Union tour.

The 1997 Ozzfest doesn't count because Mike Bordin from Ozzy's solo band was drumming for them.

Have you heard the samples of his new album? there on www.geezerbutler.com
The guitar work is really good but I hate the vocals.

Brew 04-09-2005 08:01 AM

I might check them out later on.

I laughed when I read how he came up with the name Ohmwork, it started out as the album being his ''homework'', which in a Brummie accent sounds like ''Ohmework'', he changed it to ''Ohmwork'' because it sounds more intelligent.

rippa32 04-10-2005 03:11 AM

lol. Have you seen the album cover? Its really good IMO
