If this happens, you should all come out. We'll have an MX picnic.
Hahaha. "Mom, can I get a ride to Buddy's house?" |
whatever, hellfest better have a decent line-up this year. and it better not be in syracuse, thats like 8 hours away.
|
I think I may attend this year.
|
Aslong as it's within driving distance of the East Cost I'm going. I wouldn't mind it in Syracuse because I'll be driving then.
|
and then there's posi-numbers and they don't have crappy bands at all.
|
Yeah, but that's way out in the middle of PA. I might go next year depending on the lineup and my cash flow.
|
its only 2-3 hours from me.
|
Yeah, true. I think Syrus said he went to Posifest this past summer.
YES! I finished downloading the new Bars album. |
the 1st song is my favorite, i forget what it's called.
|
Bright Lights for Demise
I've been listening to the 2 songs I had form Purevolume. So good. |
Is it good? I'm thinking about picking it up.
|
yeah, i got it last week and i've been listening to it nonstop.
|
i'm digging the band Martyr AD, i never really paid attention when i listened to them before.
|
I love me some MAD. haha, awesome acronym.

Dillingers Escape Plan is not grindcore you n00b (whoever first made that is retarded), neither is death.
DEP are what I call mathcore. Grind = Carcass, Napalm Death, Pig Destroyer Also, I consider Alexisonfire screamo, although they are a light-version of it. They aren't "emocore" to me ebcause they aren't an emo band. at all. My fave metalcore bands: As I Lay Dying All That Remains Unearth Heaven Shall Burn Killswitch Engage God Forbid (They are more thash than metalcore) Lamb of God (They are more thash than metalcore) Darkest Hour (They are more thash than metalcore) Within Y (They are more melodic death metal than metalcore but meh) What is The End considered? Math-metal? They are similer to DEP but alot more metal sounding rather thna hardcore sounding. |
You have no idea what you're talking about. Go away, child.
|
God Forbid (They are more thash than metalcore)
Lamb of God (They are more thash than metalcore) Darkest Hour (They are more thash than metalcore) Within Y (They are more melodic death metal than metalcore but meh)
whats thash again? |
Not those bands.

He meant that dep sound kind of grind, because their old stuff was really chaotic and grind influenced. They arent grind, but they dont really fit into any genre, and mathcore is a stupid genre. If those bands you named are more trash than metalcore then why did you name them? Dont get me wrong I like lamb of god, and within y |
Haha, ok cookie, you can stop saying the cancer thing already.

Eh, I have no idea where else I could ask this, and since all the genre-smart people seem to be in this thread, I guess I'll ask here.
What would Bridge To Solace, A Petal Fallen, For Her I Can Be A Hero, Kite-Flying Society, The Icarus Line, Lickgoldrensky, The Kodan Armada, Morning Again, Blacklisted, Taken, Song Of Zarathustra, The Paper Chase, Bright Blue Calm, and Underminded be classified as? (not that they're related, just that those are some bands I can't put my finger on) If this is the wrong place to ask this, commence with the flaming. |

Blacklisted is hardcore. And Taken are...good? |

Blacklisted is hardcore.
Thanks :thumb:
And Taken are...good?
Very. |
Also, The Icarus Line are sort of rock revivalish with a punk attitude. That's probably not a very good classification though. Lickgoldensky are/were grind.
|
yeah most emo is good
but nowadays their isnt really alot of true emo alot are lumped to gether and have screamers and everything |
just like alot of the new metalcore bands get lump together with hardcore metal bands like slipknot
|
Wait, did you just call Slipknot hardcore metal?
|
no i said that metalcorebands like atreyu get lumped together with bands like slipknot, and slipknot is not metalcore it is hardcore?nu-metal
|
No, you definitely referred to Slipknot as hardcore metal.
|
hardcore metal = metalcore
Slipknot = Nu-metal = Shitty music |
metal hardcore = metalcore
Slipknot = Nu-metal = Shitty music
i agree but man you should hear my ex girlfriend she got mad cause some one said that good charlotte was pop-punk when really that is their genre and they are kinda moving out of that into a more poppier sound. but anyhow she thought goodcharlotte was emo |
..... Slap her.
Good Charolette is Pop-Rock. |
No, you definitely referred to Slipknot as hardcore metal.
oh then well sorry i guess i dont know what im talking about and i should just sit back and listen to the experienced people my mistake |
..... Slap her.
Good Charolette is Pop-Rock.
shes really un-educated. |
That's right.
|
and she thinks shes a punk rocker because she listens to yellow card and goodcharlotte. and it shames me whenever bands like that say they are punks
|
oh then well sorry
i guess i dont know what im talking about and i should just sit back and listen to the experienced people my mistake
Well, at least you're mature enough to admit when you're wrong. |
they are just kinda playing on punks popularity. when in all actuality most mainstream ''punk'' is really not punk at all
|
yeah and i live in south dakota so their isnt really a big punk scene or a big skate scene for that matter. so now im stuck with a chik that likes rap
|
