Uhhh, it's more diverse. They started to diverse at YCBY I think, and finished with Versions.
I think they got more diverse with TFTR. Its much more diverse than TOOD.

illpressureurhinges1 08-26-2007 09:06 PM

i agree with Dimmu Burger... TFTR was diverse. and so was YCBY, but then they tried a little too hard with Versions.
Who is that in the video? Youtube is blocked on my work computer.
Rifles At Recess, and the whole purpose of the s speech was to raise awareness on child molestation, and to get people united and intensely into the music simultaneously, he has like a militia who wants to find that guy now, a lot of that show's on youtube, and the crowd is intense.

it can bring people together and get people pumped about a cause, but in the same way as bands preaching about God before a show, it can bother people and turn them away from the music prior to hearing it.

Yeah, but TOOD was the debut, sooo.....

illpressureurhinges1 08-26-2007 09:49 PM

youve got a point there... but still, i think they tried a little too hard to deversify it with Versions

LifeInABox 08-26-2007 09:50 PM

I don't. They made a hardcore album with more than just the norm, and I think it turned out good.

illpressureurhinges1 08-26-2007 09:55 PM

im not saying it wasnt good. it just seemed a little too messy with all the different styles. but hey, its just my opinion. nuthin against PTW at all tho. they are an amazing band

LifeInABox 08-26-2007 09:55 PM

1/3 of good Metalcore bands = Pt-Dubs

preaching about your religion as a religious band is to be expected, kids go to such band's shows knowing what they're there for, much like that show was titled, "Let's Restart This War" in reference to the lyrics of I Died Twenty Times In 1986.

Anyone have Unloved & Weeded Out?

jrowa001 08-27-2007 08:23 AM

just pointing out that Poison the Well are amazing live

i am the robots 08-27-2007 12:35 PM

They really are. I saw them last summer with As Cities Burn and Underoath, that show was probably the best I've ever been to.
Anyone have Unloved & Weeded Out?
Yes.

DJTeeLay 08-27-2007 01:13 PM

I'm sure most of you guys know about the amazingly mediocre and generic metalcore group titled Catherine under Rise Records?

Turns out their first album is actually good.

Blame their mediocrity on their vocalist.

Or on their lack of talent.

Dimmu Burger 08-27-2007 02:23 PM

Hey for metalcore they're actually pretty good.

I like the vocals.

Do Shadows Fall count as metalcore? I got The War Within and like what I hear so far.

No, they're like newer Thrash.

2muchket! 08-28-2007 05:08 AM

Yeah Shadows Fall, Chimaira and Lamb Of God aren't metalcore who are commonly mistaken as being metalcore.

Catherine and Azriel are playing in my town in October. I may go just to see Azriel as Catherine aren't that good.

LifeInABox 08-28-2007 08:16 AM

Shadows Fall are mediocre, Chimaira sucks, Lamb Of God sucks, Catherine really sucks, and I havn't heard of Azriel.

I have Lamb Of God labeled Thrashcore for some reason, I don't even know if there is such a genre.

LifeInABox 08-28-2007 10:10 AM

There isn't.

publicastration 08-28-2007 10:12 AM

Maybe someone could tell me what they are then lol.
