he did and instrumental with his wife (at the time, or it may have ben his girlfriend) who played the flute. he never contributed anything lyrics wise to the band. he has a writing credit on either on the run or speak to me from dark side, but waters has later gone to claim that he didn't actually write it, but got the credit anyway.
link to the video? |
Sure
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YNnAy3MH7k Its a good interview too. Ive noticed Roger Waters is a much more interesting person to watch in interviews than most others. |
Yea I read that some of the songwriting credits were divided up on DSOTM so that everyone got a piece, and Waters later regretted crediting Speak To Me to Mason, cause he didn't really do anything with it.
|
Good interview.
I'm liking Roger more. I didnt like him much when I first got into Floyd because it seemed to me (and its probably true) he ruled the band towards the end and eventually was the cause of them falling apart. But the more I see him and hear him talk, the more alright he seems. |
Yea he's a pretty cool guy judging from interviews. I just don't like him as much towards the latter end of the Floyd's career.
|
He's very animated in interviews. He's like a cartoon character sometimes, putting on voices and stuff. Very straight forward aswell. I remember reading a scathing interview where he wouldn't stop bagging Sinead O'Conner, and how he was one of the top five songwriters of all time.
It's funny because it's probably true. |
Depends on the interview you see, sometimes he can come off as a real arse.
|
can someone explain to me what is on the cover of Meddle? It is killing me.
|
Roger's ear. Most people think it is a nose.
|
Thanks for posting that interview, I loved the bit at the end.
I always like to hear the guys from Floyd in interviews, they are all very articulate and intelligent. |
This is a better shot of it: http://www.neptunepinkfloyd.co.uk/images/news/2004/storm/lrg/meddle.jpg
Cut off the top half, and rotate its counterclockwise, and you have the cover. That's the entire album (front and back covers.) |
I see it now. haha. I always thought it was a thumb.
|
My favourite PF album right now is Piper at the Gates of Dawn...I love re-discovering Syd, it feels like finding a new gem in the rough everytime I put on these classic psychedelic albums.
Is anyone a fan of his solo work? the "Barrett" album is fairly enjoyable. |
Does anyone have "Amused to Death" to upload for me?
I've been looking on soulseek but I cant find one with a good connection. Everything is moving at under 1kb/sec, and I have high speed internet :upset: If someone has it, and wanted to give it to me, I would love them. EDIT: Nevermind, I finally found one that worked. |
I've only heard one song off of Amused to Death. "Three Wishes" it's fantastic, I'd appreciate an upload also, I never see any of his solo stuff in shops.

I always like to hear the guys from Floyd in interviews, they are all very articulate and intelligent.
Ive noticed that. Im a big heavy metal fan as well and you can get very tired of hearing some interviews with people like that because there real dumbasses some of them. It's nice to see an intelligent interview for once. I saw an interview with Alice Cooper on TV once and that was pretty interesting too. Okay sorry for going off the Floyd topic. Does anyone have Ummagumma here? I'm seriously considering it to be my next purchase. |
I haven't got Ummagumma yet. That one, along with Division Bell and The Final Cut are the Floyd albums I am yet to hear.
|
I'd get The Final Cut next, I actually prefer it to Ummagumma.
|
Yeah, I was leaning toward that one. PF's pre-Meddle stuff doesn't appeal to me as much.
|
i love the division bell...high hopes especially

 Ummagumma is Floyd's best album. |
hahaha
You're serious... :amaze: |
Dead serious.
|
Ummagumma is a good CD. I wouldnt say their best, but thats just me.
The live disc that comes with it is very good. |
Ummagumma is a pretty awesome CD. I wouldnt say their best, but thats just me.

Hmm, that works too.
|
Basically the same :p
I'm a big fan of Ummagumma. The live disc is fantastic. |
All of that jamming on the live stuff. God damn it's amazing.
|
The tape version is even better. Still not their best though. :p
|
Whats special about the tape version?
