mmmm i've seen some videos from zoro and i liked the sound of them, and the groove ride? has any of you tried it? i think it's a bit washy for me
Havent personally TRIED the ride but have heard it yes. Its pretty good. I wouldnt use it but it is a great ride. just not my taste.

Seafroggys 01-28-2006 12:22 AM
oh yes. they are quite honestly the best pair of hats i have ever heard
no they're not

chewaz 01-28-2006 12:43 AM

mmm i really want new cymbals (sabian) and stay on one line (AA) and i was was thinking about the AA pack cause it's on my budget and i can get an splash with it, i dont live in the US, i got a friend that can bring them here (peru) for $580-$600 :O, so what ya think? the pack comes with regular hats 14", medium crash 16", medium ride 20" (i'll probally sell it and buy a 22", i like big rides) and a 10" splash, :O i got like $500 and my parents give the rest

HeLLmO 01-28-2006 06:54 AM

^i'd go for it, AAs are great

zildjian1992 01-28-2006 07:53 AM

which hi hats are more versatile, the HHX Groove hats, or the HHX Stage hats,I dont want hi hats that are heavy, and extremely loud, just a nice crisp, clean, versitile hi hat. Other suggestions would be good also.

nonsense! 01-28-2006 09:35 AM

I am also looking for a pair of versitile hats, I play lots of different types of music. I keep hearing "Get New Beats" but I was wondering, which size should I get? 13", 14", or 15"?

HeLLmO 01-28-2006 09:43 AM

well, 14'' i think is the most versitille size, i personally like 15''s, they are good for hard rock and metal, but i know some dudes like steve jordan use 15''s(actually i read in MD he used 17'' at one point) i'd just go with 14''s, and for good hats other than New Beats(even though new beats are great) Sabian HHX hats are great, as are Meinl Byzance and Zildjian K's or K/Zs

Locke 01-28-2006 04:47 PM

I was woundering if anyone had any suggestions on what cymbal to get next, I already have a 21" A Custom Sweet Ride, 17" Projection Crash, 18" A medium-thin and 13" K/Z Hats.

Was considering getting a A Custom Ping Ride of some sort, Possibally a 15" Crash of some sort or a splash. Suggestions?

Having 2 rides would be pretty cool. I wouldnt get a 15inch crash though. THey are ok for effects but i would rather have someting bigger. maybe get like a 17inch K crash or something.

it depends, if u want to rides, u can't go wrong with the ping ride, but if u want to stick with 1 ride i'd say get a china or splash, or some form of effect cymbal

Get New Beats

there you heard it again

I have 14", so get those

chewaz 01-28-2006 11:25 PM

i'm still undecided, what are your opinions on the HH pack? regular hats, mediumt-thin crash, medium ride?

HeLLmO 01-29-2006 07:16 AM

HH=:) :thumb: :chug: :D

chewaz 01-29-2006 09:11 AM

omg i'm so confused right now, i like the sound of both AA and HH :O, but i have money to buy a pack :S (HH are expenciver but buying each cymbal alone will cost more), it sucksss

Drum Phil 01-29-2006 10:22 AM

Im after a crash/ride but dont know which one.

18" Zildjian K crash/ride
18" Sabian HH Crash
20" Sabian AA Crash/Ride
18" Paiste rude crash/ride

Opinions? Im leaning toward the K

i'd say the HH or the rude, but i haven't tried the K, though i'm sure it is a great cymbal

\m/-CHeV-\m/ 01-29-2006 10:42 AM

I'm getting a new cymbal set, and now i found some dealer that sells NEW zildjian cymbal 25% under retail price..
now i need 2 crashes. I play mostly metal (arch enemy, some metallica influences), and i was thinking of buying a zildjian medium crashes, but i heard some good things about a custom mediums..
and i don't dare to buy K's. not that i have no technique, but they just don't cut throught thoroughly.. which 2 crashes would cut through nicely in both heavy playing, and maybe some ballads (like covering nothing else matters), A customs medum crashes maybe?. thanks in advance :).

The rudes probably my least favourite.

HeLLmO 01-29-2006 11:24 AM

that would be understandable, actualy, u said rude crash ride didnt u, i think i may have been thinkin' of the rude thin crash, there was one i didn't like, 1 i did.

Drum Phil 01-29-2006 11:29 AM

Yeah. The thins are pretty nice but im not after a crash. I want a nice crash ride.

HeLLmO 01-29-2006 11:32 AM

yea, then i would def. say the HH or the K. i would HH because i think it is a tad cheaper, but that may be me

Drum Phil 01-29-2006 11:34 AM

It'll be hard between the HH and the K because they'll be so similar. Its gonna take some rigurous testing

HeLLmO 01-29-2006 12:19 PM

well, look on the bright side, either way u can't go wrong

Drum Phil 01-29-2006 12:20 PM

Good point :D

HeLLmO 01-29-2006 12:29 PM

but i'm still sad, now that the holiday season is over i won't be buying cymbals again untill next like fall when i get a job.

full collapse 01-29-2006 02:11 PM

I'm looking for hi-hats and ride that I can groove with and can really cut.
I was thinkign 14" AAX Fast hats and 21" AA Rock ride... Any other suggestions?

Seafroggys 01-29-2006 02:38 PM
