meh, but i still dont see how they would be black. nothing about them seems like it. it would be weird to see how they invented black metal (if thats true) yet just about every black metal band, or all, are from places around europe. didnt black start because of the burning churches in norway?

People get them confused with death metal because of their lyrics. Dm has a reputation for having some sort of vile lyrics. Slayer, indeed, has that. But it's more the fact of their riffs, thrashing, heavy, distorted, and "gut-busting". The fact they're considered DM is just a common misconseption. They're purely thrash, with a lot of punk influences.

Undisputed attitude wasn't a good album, I think. The only good purpose it served was showing the punk roots in thrash metal. Tom doesn't really have a punk-oriented voice past RIB. Their riffs and Dave's beats is really what makes the band what they are.

Yeah, I have to admit that I laughed pretty hard upon reading that title. Jihad might also a bit questionable on the lyric department.

They said themselves they're death speed metal. But i just say they're Thrash.

I don't know where they would get that conclusion. They have major elements of thrash and punk. Jeff grew up on punk, that influenced the band tons, trust me.

It's a misconseption. Just because their riffs are fast and agressive, along with drums, they should be called "Speed Metal" they're a thrash band, simple as that.

They have too many punk roots to be called speed metal. Speed is really too vauge of a genre.

I always thought Speed metal was just another word for thrash.

I'm guessing that's it. Because you really can't label them a band that because it's a little stupid. Every band will have fast and agressive riffs. (Excluding some genres)

I've seen interviews on, I think it was from GetThrashed, and they were talking to some guitarist, I forget which band.. :lol: Man, my memory sucks. But he said back in the early years thrash was just called "Speed Metal". Also about them being called death metal... some thrash bands back then were called death metal back then, such as, Sepultura and Morbid Saint.

But yes, they are just pure thrash metal. Or well, they were.

With the wave of bad Slayer records for the past few, I really hope Dave cleans up the crap Paul made for Slayer.

It's King's signature model when he was sponsored by ESP for a while.

I like his ESP Abyss (Season in the Abyss video) model a lot better paint job wise.

I don't remember what really much of that video besides that they're like in Egypt... I'll have to watch it.
