I am confused... But, anyways, Penguins are WAY superior to koalas. It's a scientific fact. They did a study, and the amount of pure awesome contained inside a single penguin was enough to make Vanilla Ice cool.

Don't ask... it's 1 AM, I need to finish an essay, and I'm REALLY tired.

You live in Seattle? I do too. :thumb:
Where in Seattle? Are you in high school, or college, or middle school, or none of the above? Heh... sorry. But like, I love Seattle, and I had to move out recently, So I want to hear about it, because if I meet someone online who I actually already knew, or someone who knows someone I know, or something like that, it would be awesome. I get to go back to Seattle at the end of the month... :thumb:

Publius Enigma... was that the weird thing with The Division Bell?

Distant Echoes 03-02-2005 04:23 PM

i think poster.com has a nice selection. I have a 12'x2.5' DSOTM going across my basement wall. I love it.

DeusExMachina 03-02-2005 06:18 PM

I know it's against the rules, and I apologize, but I need to ask for advice from people who I know have good music taste.

Not quite sure how this happened, but my school's Battle of the Bands is at the end of the month, and each band plays 3-5 songs. I'm playing lead guitar for 3 bands. Any good advice for quick tunes? Two of the bands I've never played with before, but they want me to play lead for them. Not quite sure how I got in this mess, especially with all the school work I need to do, but any advice would be MAJORLY appreciated. Emailing me at EthanRodkin@gmail.com, or hitting me up on AIM at DeusExMachina107 would be sooooo helpful its unbelievable. Thanks in advance, and if anyone is pissed about this post... I don't blame you.

this is one of my favorite bands but i don't like the fact that everyone has heard korns another brick in the wall song and then they say o i love pink floyd when they haven't even heard the really band

magicbus 03-02-2005 08:08 PM

I found this while looking up the Greek myth influence in music, and was bummed that I'd never hear this.

THE MAN AND THE JOURNEY
THE MAN

a) Daybreak (band-version of Grantchester Meadows)
b) Work (early version of Biding My Time)
c) Afternoon (break, where tea was served for the band on stage)
d) Doing It (Up The Khyber)
e) Sleeping (Quicksilver)
f) Nightmare (Cymbaline)
g) Daybreak (Instrumental version of Grantchester Meadows)

THE JOURNEY

a) The Beginning (Green Is The Colour)
b) Beset The Creatures Of The Deep (Careful With That Axe, Eugene)
c) The Narrow Way (Band-version of The Narrow Way, part three)
d) The Pink Jungle (Pow R. Toc H.)
e) The Labyrinth Of Auximenes (mid-section from Interstellar Overdrive)
f) Behold The Temples Of Light (Instrumental)
g) The End Of The Beginning (Celestial Voices from A Saucerful Of Secrets)

'The Man and the Journey' were one of Pink Floyd's early concept-shows performed the first time April 14, 1969 in Royal Festival Hall, London. The event was titled 'The Massed Gadgets Of Auximenes - More Furious Madness From Pink Floyd'. Both parts of the show contained of improvisations around different Floyd songs, many of them closely related to the soundtrach from the film More, which was written simultaniously.

A recording of the show was meant to be released, but cancelled because most of the material was already released in other versions. 'The Man and the Journey' is only available on bootleg-recordings. One recording circulating is done by dutch radio VPRO in Amsterdam September 17, 1969. A part of the show was recorded for the radio-show 'Top Gear' on May 12, 1969. The recording has been released on the more ore less official italian CD: 'Pink Floyd - The Complete Top Gear Sessions' (GDR CD 9206/AB).

http://pinkfloydhyperbase.dk/unreleased/index.html#THE%20JOURNEY is the site.

EDIT:
Alright so basically I really need to find The Complete Top Gear Sessions, even though it'll probably be hard. On another note, I'm gonna check out More, Relics, and AHM. What do you guys think of these albums?

DeusExMachina 03-02-2005 09:10 PM

AHM rocks. I've heard of that concept show, but never knew too much about it. I'd be curious to see/hear it.

pigonthewing82 03-02-2005 09:16 PM

AHM never did much for me, If is a great song, but other then that I don't like it much. Though I wouldn't be supprised if it grew on me one day.

I completely agree with you one of my friends loves Korn and a bunch other bands and he heard that song and was singing it at lunch break... I said to him you know what song your singing and who originally wrote it write... he said no... i explained it to him & he said OMG I love Pink Floyd ... I said you realize the Korn cover is nothing like the original ... he said i dont care... i said then never talk about Pink Floyd again...

anyway the point of the story is that you are completely right and it is disgusting what people are like

"By the way... Which one is Pink?"

I'd go with a WYWH poster. Or an Animals poster. Because they both have ridiculously cool art.

The original plan was to take the photo like it appears on the cover, without any photo doctoring. They inflated the pig, and got it into position, but it got loose and flew away. They did get a picture of the sky during that day though. The next day, they got a picture of the pig above the building, but they didnt like the picture of the sky too much, so they took the Pig from day 2 and put it on day 1's background.

Johnnymario 03-03-2005 04:02 PM

Have any of you guys listened to The Orb and their trance versions of some of Floyd's songs.... like Light Fluffy Clouds, or Welcome to the Machine? Just wondering

Kingofdudes 03-03-2005 04:16 PM

I've heard a trance cover of Comfortably Numb once.

thunderzstruck 03-03-2005 04:25 PM

Ok, I'm looking to buy another or two Pink Floyd albums. I have Wish you were here, The Wall, and Dark side of the moon. Any suggestions?

Kingofdudes 03-03-2005 04:26 PM

Animals and Meddle are your friends

thunderzstruck 03-03-2005 04:31 PM
