ramblinjam 08-09-2004 03:52 PM

Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Zepplin, Halen, The Who, The Doors, Allman Bros, all created some of the best songs to date.

Badmoon 08-09-2004 04:10 PM

Grace Slick, Donna Jean Godchaux, ect...

IAJP 08-09-2004 04:11 PM

BludgeonySteve 08-09-2004 09:28 PM

go me :D

So how 'bout them beatles? I read 150 pages of their biography in one day :D. Me>illiterate beatles fans.

PinkFloyd 08-09-2004 09:41 PM

Beatles seem like a decent band.

Badmoon 08-09-2004 09:57 PM

You say that like you've never heard The Beatles.

BludgeonySteve 08-09-2004 09:59 PM
Beatles seem like an amazing band with timeless songs and helped launch a musical revolution with their songs, had millions of crazed fans and even out did their earlier stuff all through the 70s type band band.
I'll agree.

Badmoon 08-09-2004 10:19 PM

Today I passed by the opportunity to buy a Jeff Healy album.

BludgeonySteve 08-09-2004 10:20 PM

^You're dead to me

:p

Badmoon 08-09-2004 10:32 PM

It was that or Blues Traveler live. Nothing's stopping me from buying Blues Traveler live. Plus, Healy's mullet didn't help.

BludgeonySteve 08-09-2004 10:39 PM

 all right then.

And I think the mullet's sexy ;)

Badmoon 08-09-2004 11:43 PM

They even cover War's "Low Rider" and John Lennon's "Imagine". Needless to say it's a crazy album.

VoodooChild 08-10-2004 01:40 AM

Which "Live"?

Live From the Fall (best one imo)
Live on the Rocks
Live: What You and I Have Been Through

Badmoon 08-10-2004 01:57 AM

Live from the Fall ;)

Kickass album.

I also bought...

Phil Lesh & Friends - There and Back Again (Fabulous)

&

Big Head Todd & The Monsters - Strategem (okay)

VoodooChild 08-10-2004 02:18 AM

Live From the Fall will melt your face off. Great pick!

There and Back Again, hmmm, I think I heard this album once. The only thing I remember is that Warren is on it and he puts on a jam session. I gotta buy it sometime soon...

Strategem, uh... er... Sister Sweetly is better...

Ah man, I can't think right now. I'm getting completaly lost in "Galactic"...

Lol, actually, i was over at HMV today, and they got these 'listening posts' where they got CDs inside this rack and you put the headphones on. Anyway, i pop a pair on, and without seeing the CD that was playing, i was like, hey this stuff isnt too bad. It was the darkness. =) Story of the day

DVG.

Veteran of the psychic wars 08-10-2004 06:30 AM
I love Blue Oyster Cult!!! :thumb: They're actually on tour now, I wonder what that's like. Too bad the closest venue is 8 hours away.
Wonder what they're like? I saw them in June. It was abso-f***ing-lutely amazing.
If you get half a chance to see them, go!

Barrabus 08-10-2004 06:46 AM

Classic rock/metal bands

Classic rock is the music I listen to when I'm not listening to my usual bands. I think everyone gets into Black Sabbath after getting into Metallica, strange but awesome, how all the hard rockers all love Led Zeppelin and other stuff that was around before they were born. It's this undefined tradition.

Just making sure, is everyone familiar with the following bands?
Don Dokken
White Snake
The Scorpions
Poison
Venom
Tesla
MSG

These classical bands should be as well known as AC/DC and Def Lepard

StreetlightRock 08-10-2004 07:08 AM

Poison is more hair metal...

DVG.

BludgeonySteve 08-10-2004 09:57 AM

I thought we were about classic rock/blues/folk some jazz, soul motown (if it comes up) maybe a little country rock and alternitive once in a while.

Not classic metal.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 08-10-2004 11:48 AM
