I saw Maiden before that Ozzfest thing, it was one of their few non-Ozzfest US dates. It kicked.
i saw them back in '03 on their last tour, they're amazing live.
Hah..the previous two years I went I only saw about 10-15 bands in total - the most noteable of which were The Wildhearts - I spent the rest of the in various states of drunkness and being extremely Scottish
i going to the beer tent during FFAF and Turbonegro, i actually want to see most of the other bands. then its back to the beer tent for the night, as my train home isn't til 7.

And I'm still bothered by some retard troll post in the Beatles thread...I looked through the rest of his post...apparently he thinks the Beatles suck because they don't match up to Avenged Sevenfold just in terms of technical talent. "omg ringo sux at drums so the beatles suck"...God, what an idiot.

NP: The Rolling Stones - You Can't Always Get What You Want
I had a go at him for that, don't worry Ray.

/Is Avenged Sevenfold king.

Also, i just got the Gundam Wing OST, its awesome. They recorded it with an orchestra and a couple of great guitar players, its cool.

I saw them then as well :p

They are indeed though. Best band of the night, clearly, though Rob Zombie wasn't bad. Mastadon was disappointing, I'd heard good things.

Pfft...Beer tent

Me and my friend set up camp in front of our tent on an inflatable couch and sourounded ourselves with crates of Carling. Somehow we could never muster enough enthusiasm to go and see many bands.

Leeds is a bit dodgy though, well at least it was last year. The Security force were Irish and were huge, bald, and extremely angry.
Some guy started mouthing off at them right in front of our tent, and he got annihilated. Then people started chucking stuff at them, and they got very angry indeed :-/ And people pulled down all of the big wooden poles which held up the lihts and burnt them. And exploded them.
That was certainly an interesting night.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-23-2005 04:23 PM

Progressive sludge metal. Very good stuff, stfu Vince. :p For the record, it's Mastodon. :eng101:

EDIT: Their drummer, Brad Dailor, I think is his name, is a freaking maniac. Every song, the man is just goes balls out. If there was ever such thing as a "shredder" on drums, this guy would be it. :p

The Radio 1 stage looks insane this year. No Comply, Bad Religion and Senses Fail ++

Generic sounding.

Jake: I didn't hear anything like that live, it sounded like straight metal, and really generic. Not good energy either. Rob Zombie blew them away and was in turn blown away by Iron Maiden.

But he must listen to me, im the king of the Sevenfold thread! Without me, NO SEVENFOLD DISCUSSION, BEOTCH.
Cain, remember that one song I YSI'd called "Road Trip" that you said was the worst thing you've heard since Scott Stapp sung the Star Spangled Banner?

Well it seems they formed a new band called the Graduates. Kurtz might have heard of them, but they're big in Los Al. And they suck. Nobody is a musician in my town, and they think they're the best band in the world.

http://www.purevolume.com/thegraduatesca

There's their purevolume if you want to listen. I listened to their cover of Dammit, and I had to close it because it was so horrible. The drums over power everything, they obviously have no idea how to record.
Yeah, I've heard of them.

They're hideous.

What a little douche, though...he doesn't have the first clue what he's talking about.

Arucard 08-23-2005 04:34 PM

God, thats terrible. Hes muting the wrong notes in the Dammit verse :\

Heres a sample of this OST. Think a mixture between Symphony X and James Bond symphonic theme tunes :

And Ray : Since City Of Evil came out, alot of noobs are getting big headed because theres alot of skill and talent on the album, with some amazing drums and guitar etc, so these kids think their the next Dream Theater.

Meh, I wouldn't be too surprised if he didn't exactly go over the top live. What have you heard by them as far as studio works go? If you've not heard anything, I'd reccomend I Am Ahab and Naked Burn. Couple good tracks from Leviathan.

An overrated band with a terrible vocalist? I hope not, but could be :p

Except A7x can write pretty good songs... :D

I agree, but LaBrie can't sound like Shadows or vice-a-versa. Good thing because I cant stand LaBrie's vocals.

Ok, I'll upload I Am Ahab for you. On my dial up connection. Which will take me a long time.

Link coming soon.

Same Zeppelin.

Someone please download that song.

Why is that? I would enjoy it, because they would still have their own sound added with the technical wankery. They seem to be changing style with every album, so if that keeps up, I'm sure they will get more progressive.

Arucard 08-23-2005 04:50 PM

Download the ****ing song! Gah!

Also, i recently put up sound proof boards over my garage walls, which i will be painting this weekend. Im putting a big Dark Throne logo across the left wall

Me and my friends are painting it on  I've drawn it out on the wall already, i just have to colour it in black with paint. My mates don't take BM seriously atall, so they suggested an exploding church beside it.

So I see.

Also, the Princeton Review came out with a bunch of lists with colleges.

Illinois was only on two: It was #1 for most upper-level classes taught by assistants and #12 for most fraternities/sororoties

Lucas: Sarah Lawrence was on 11 of them

It was #4 for class discussions, #15 for best professors, #6 for least religious, #6 for school theater, #12 on "Intercollegiate Sports Unpopular Or Nonexistent", #5 for "No One Plays Intramural Sports", #15 for most pot smoking, #6 for "Students most Nostalgic For Bill Clinton" (which I would guess is most liberal), #3 for most hippy-ish, and #1 in strained relationships with the town the college is in (as well as #5 on "Dodgeball Targets", I have no idea what that means)

Either way, I want to see it. Even more so because it'll be your artwork (and your un-troo friends' also)
