people underrated Load so much, I think its one of their best records, after KEA, RTL, MOP, AJFA and maybe Black
Metallica, along with every other Thrash band owe a hell of alot to Venom's early albums. |
Even if Cronos is a satanist, that means he's an atheist, therefore not believing in or worshipping Satan. Excuse me if this is wrong. But from what I've understood that Satanism is just the name to piss off Christians.
Then, Buried Alive inspired James and Lar to write One. But the lyrics were inspired by Johnny Got His Gun. Damn, I love that book. |

An athiest doesn't beleive in religion therefor they can't beleive in lucifer (the angel that broke away from god and became "the Devil" and "saten" among other names) |
Why do bands have to talk **** to another band? wtf. I don't recall metallica bagging on some band. It's so childish and dumb. It's fine when zakk wylde flames fred durst, or somebody like that, who's just a wannabe and an untalented musician overall, but ugh, it sucks when they're doing this to metallica. Same thing when Bruce said Manowar was a sad excuse of a band. Wtf. That pissed me off. Imagine being told you suck by the band that influenced you. :upset:

WTF.. I just said that they don't believe in Satan. |

Man, I'm tired... okay, well if what I said didn't make sense. I ment.. if Cronos is a Satanist, that means he is an athiest. Doesn't believe in God or Satan. Because Joe said people who worship satan don't deserve an opinon. And I thought he was saying that because Cronos in that interview was talking about satanism.
Even if Cronos is a satanist, that means he's an atheist, therefore not believing in or worshipping Satan.
Dammit, I'm going to bed. |

Please Joe... lol Britton, chill. |
Please Joe...
I don't think we'll ever see a return to MOP but the new album sounds promising.
yeah that is a shame....not really a fan of their newer stuff so think ill pass on the new album |
I'd love to go but I don't have the money to go and my exams are that week
i paid £120 for the pair and am selling them for between £90 and £100, flights to Dublin (if needed) are £4.99 there and £14.99 back (ish) thats with Ryanair, from either Heathrow or London Luton. |
Did I miss the Tallica' Boys on the Simpsons?
Possibly. They're not on here until December. Maybe you should fly to England. |
Metallica, along with every other Thrash band owe a hell of alot to Venom's early albums.
And to a lot of black metal bands. |

Worst album ever? No way. But yea, I wouldn't want another St. Anger. They said this album won't be st. anger #2, so I hope they're right. |

Zakk Wylde calling people wannabes is hilariously ironic. |
Ok, I've noticed that most Metallica albums seem to follow a certain format.
Here it is: *Keep in mind, the later albums such as Black, Load and Reload don't really follow this format, and there are some albums and songs that are exceptions. Track 1: Usually begins with an acoustic intro, such as Fight Fire With Fire and Battery, and the song is usually fast paced(Blackened, Hit the Lights). Track 2: The title track, a la Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All, St. Anger. Track 3: The slow, heavy track. The band usually jams for a while before the singing starts, such as in For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Thing That Should Not Be, Eye of the Beholder, Some Kind of Monster. Track 4: The Ballad. Fade To Black, Sanitarium, One, The Unforgiven I & II, Until it Sleeps, Turn the Page. And from there...it gets sketchy, there's usually an intrumental, and a fast-paced outro track such as Damage ,Inc. or Dyers Eve. And you don't have to say it because I'll already say it...I have way too much time on my hands.... |
I have noticed that.
|
Same here but I only think it applies to RTL, MOP and AJFA.
|
FWTBT and TTTSNB are based on books, both songs are the third track on their respective albums.
Sanitarium and One are based on movies, the first one from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest and One from Johnny Got his gun(i think). Both songs are track 4. |
Yup, One is based on Johnny Got His Gun, but James said he wanted to make a song like Venom's Buried Alive, when they were making that song.
|
They didn't really suceed with that did they?
|

We decided that it was simply coincidental. |
it might be, i dont see a reason for such an "album formula", so to speak.
|
I just think it's the way they chose to arrange them. I mean they didn't write the songs in the order the album goes, planning to make them like they were on the last album.
|
I'm listening to the Black Album (and Metallica period) for the first time in a long time. Ahhh...it's a good thing.
|
I watched the St. Anger DVD today, didn't enjoy it as much as I used to.
|
I lost my one.
I'm not too upset about it... |
The St. Anger rehearsal sessions? I liked it when I first watched it, but no real desire to do so again.
|
It's pretty damn boring. The highlight is where Kirk screws up.
|
Worst album ever? No way.
But yea, I wouldn't want another St. Anger. They said this album won't be st. anger #2, so I hope they're right.
It wasn't the worst album ever but its the worst in the Metallica catalogue. I figured they would go for a different sound. St Anger got a lot of negative vibes from media, fans and press. Also, Rob is a huge fan of thrash metal so he'll probs influence the sound a little, not greatly as we know what James is like :p |
