While it's on the topic of metalcore, can anyone recommend me some good bands, my pop-punk collection far outwieghs my metalcore at the moment.
Death by Stereo
Unearth
Norma Jean
As I Lay Dying
Everytime I Die!!!
Bury Your Dead
The Agony Scene
Beloved
Darkest Hour
Evergreen Terrace
Into the Moat
Misery Signals
Winter Solstice

some of those are more metal, some more hardcore, but most are going to be argued over by Chris.

Stop changing your argument you fag. I wouldn't have argued if you said all good musicians had lessons, jesus. You said they went to music school, there's a huge difference. Seriously, stick to your point and then admit defeat when I prove you wrong rather than change arguments.
Let him be, not everyone hangs out in the politics forum (or used to).

Understanding In a Crash 09-08-2005 08:06 PM
What kind of metalcore are you looking for?

Metal with breakdowns? (stuff like As I Lay dying, for instance)

50% Metal 50% hardcore? (Eh...I can't think if any popular examples.)

Technical Metalcore? (Between The Buried And Me or something)
AILD was one of the first bands that got me into the genre..

Dead to fall, Converge, Into the Moat... I don't think anyone considers them metalcore but everyone loves Poison the well.

I narrowed this list down to the good bands.

I shall type up a list later.

For now, check hxcmp3.com for Above This Fire, Cold War, Misery Signals, Fordirelifesake, The Acacia Strain, With All Sincerity, Wings Of Scarlet, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, The Secret, and Conducting From The Grave.

Five Minute Ride
Remembering Never
Anterrabae
It dies today
All Else Failed (one of my favorites)
Zao
Martyr A.D.

Into The Moat is tech metal. You add a core because of the breakdowns, silly. I don't listen to Converge. I want to try one of their remastered albums though.

chips88 09-08-2005 08:19 PM

ok, look Jon, the new Agony Scene is not that bad!!!

and yeah, TTEOTD is pretty sweet, but lesser known.

And how could I forget It Dies Today!!! Maybe a bit generic, yes, but hella fun, definitely.

Understanding In a Crash 09-08-2005 08:21 PM

Yeah the It Dies Today vocalist is a cutie.

Tjebby 09-08-2005 08:22 PM

Jon, I have some Converge if you want it... I don't think they are remastered though. I'm not too sure.

You haven't heard of every band I listed, get them. Get A Kiss Farewell. I garuntee you haven't heard of them (Unless Chris mentioned them behind my back).

They have a hxcmp3.

Well, we made a deal that he would make me a "mix tape" of metalcore and all, but he hasn't.

Tell me your AIM. I'll get you some With All Sincerity. They rock my socks. Great use of dissonance.

Why would you realease a hundred song album, that is like twenty minutes long?

Understanding In a Crash 09-08-2005 09:12 PM
Why would you realease a hundred song album, that is like twenty minutes long?
Traditional Street Punk Songs used to be like 45 seconds long.

Tjebby 09-08-2005 09:17 PM

Yeah but the majority of songs on this album are from 5-20 seconds, i thought.

Excursions 09-08-2005 09:22 PM
