I heard that it's supposedly not gonna be as bad as St. Anger, but everything has been backed by rabid fanboys...

The lower I keep my expections, the less dissappointed I am on the release day. I'm pretty sure if this album keeps with the trend of the last three releases, then Metallica is as good as dead.

Whatever they make, people will still buy it and people will still go to see them live. They're far from dead.

People have been hating them for like, 15 years, yet they still have millions and millions of fans.

Well until they release a rap album I'll still be there fan.

Thats not the ownly time it's happened, In the Where's Jaymz? bootleg concert Jaymz had hurt his neck and could'nt attend so Lars, Kirk & Jason just played without him with Jason singing. They come to Sad But True and who comes on stage? Kid Rock and his midget friend. I was not amused!

anyway I love KR he's the reason I even got into Metal. Cowboy changed my life. Before that song I was always listening to rap and when I heard a white guy rapping over frickin heavey guitar bass and drums it opened a whole new world for me. them Korn Limp Bizkit Rage...ah man those were the days.

I respect Kid Rock as a metal introductor, but he's nothing outstanding, of course he's better than Limp Bizkit.

It doesn't bother me the fact that he used the Sad But True riff in his song, to be honest the verse during the riff is catchy, his accoustic work is better than the heavy stuff.

I would love to see Metallica play something by Venom, to bad Venom hates Metallica.

Bit naive from Venom to say that. Without Metallica where would metal be today? If they are judging them because of Black,Load,St Anger then f*ck them thats called progression, advancing as a musician, exploring new depths of music. There's no band on this planet who can play thrash metal songs live better than Metallica ok maybe Slayer or Sepultura are at there ranks but jesus how can you top the stage presense Metallica has.

the black album was unbelievable as was master of puppets but i cant help wondering if they are past there peak and should give it up....after all st anger was absolutely terrible.....radioheads "pablo honey" was a better album and thats saying something because that was worth about 5 cents....

are they done?
or will there upcoming album take us back to the glory days

The next album won't do that. They've proved album after album that they have no intention of going back to write the same kind of music that they used to. I don't mind. I mean, look at AJFA. The songs were long and (at times), boring (compared with MOP, anyway). How can you expect them to write [I]another[/I] MOP or AJFA?

It's been said many times and they are obviously past their best.
I don't think we'll ever see a return to MOP but the new album sounds promising.

people underrated Load so much, I think its one of their best records, after KEA, RTL, MOP, AJFA and maybe Black :rolleyes:
