The new Cryptopsy wasn't very good, but it did have a couple killer songs.

The new Akercocke, on the other hand, is amazing. I downloaded the whole thing and I'm really impressed.

Yeah, and plus I just haven't really been interested in the types of stuff that's been talked about around the forums lately. My conflicts with Jom (which according to him were created in my own mind :)) and the ban on uploads sort of left me feeling a little purposeless and so I stopped posting regularly. I went on every day, just to check things out, but I spent it lurking.

That, and college has been busy. I've been working on my novel and my music and all are going quite well. But I'm back, now, for the time being.

I tend to leave for a little while each month anyway (and it's always right when the R+Mer of the Month competition happens :p).

EDIT: Review-whoring time. I figured I couldn't only just stay an Opeth review-writer, so I wrote this on Live's "Throwing Copper." I'll probably be writing a lot more reviews in the near future, too, as I find more albums in my collection that haven't been reviewed yet. :)

In other news, I left about twenty minutes ago to go play poker. Last time I played, I won $20, and it was the first time I played in months, heh. It seems like every time I don't play for long periods of time, I win a reasonable amount of money.

Right, so three days later, and I'm playing again, and I'm the first one out. $3 doesn't hurt too bad, obviously, but it's never fun to lose money at university.

That, and I should have learned not to play poker again until at least December.

Sup guys. Nightwish seems to have broken up: they've just kicked Tarja out of the band in the past 24 hours, according to Oceansouls of America forums.

I know a few here were not huge fans of the group, but this circumstance is a truly sad moment for all power metal, as Nightwish was one of the closest groups to breaking out. It's a shame that this has happened.

I made a thread about it, you can get details there.

Too bad, I liked them a good bit, and Tarja was hot...they probably got pissed because she wasn't putting out.

They're still together, just searching for a singer.

Even if they do continue, it's safe to say this is the end of Nightwish, if you know what I mean.

I find it quite hard to imagine Nightwish with another singer. Tarja was the band's signature sound.
