Lol of course they're NSBM! Sure they're not as in your face and elementary about it as most other bands doesnt make them not NSBM. Hell ABSURD is labelled as NSBM and theyre even less sketchy than NOKTURNAL MORTUM. These bands are smart, they arent balls to the wall NSBM yet they're still sketchy enough to (happily) fit that niche. Its all about being sketchy, that way you get the hardcore skins/wnf crowd as well as the more PC crowd as theyre not in your face enough with the NS stuff to be written off by them...

Two biggest bands in NSBM; ABSURD and NOKTURNAL MORTUM in reality have hardly anything your average onlooker would find extremely offensive or pertaining to NS, but when you dig a bit deeper and take a look at their audience/supporters, what types of shows theyre playing, bands they associate with/support, imagery/ideas they associate with their music, its pretttty damn obvious what they are.

I'm not saying their lyrics don't fit the nsbm niche, but their sound just doesn't really remind me of the majority of nsbm groups.

There has always been the raw, RAC inspired minimal NSBM and the other side of it with the more grandiose arrangements keys, folk inspired I guess. **** I can think of tons of bands thatd fit in there. Also NSBM has alot to do with the lyrical these so I dont see how "sound" would be such a deciding factor. I mean its almost folky east european black metal with NS lyrics, the **** else would it be?

So then is Walknut NSBM? I never got why people called them NSBM, because it's not apparent from their lyrics at all, but the CD cover from their album says that Stellar Winter Rex is a proud member of the Pagan Front.

Well theres a pretty good chance they are (not really familiar with them). Theyre not supporting that for no reason lol.

I don't think Walknut actually has ns lyrics even though the members have been involved in nsbm in the past.
