and yeah mid-paced generic old school with average riffing and really bad drumming is indeed ****ING NUTS

You're right, but you're not looking at the other option. Classic is not just definied by personal taste. We already had this discussion in the black metal thread when you were saying DMDS wasn't classic.

Man, I don't particularly care for thrash for example save a few releases here and there. But the last thing I'll do is deny that some of those other albums I don't care for are, in fact, classics.
