My thoughts exactly, plus the guy that got totally *** raped by the giant douche bags looked exactly like Dickey Betts.

It was like this guy vs. this guy

The new material was awesome. Hittin' the Note (their latest album) is really good, I definitely recommend it.

Also, as I was walking out of the venue I thought, "Would it have killed them to play Whipping Post for the encore?"

Jam2Me 07-16-2005 10:19 PM

That's awesome I can't wait to see them Aug 21.

I'm guessing moe. was awesome too?

I saw Pure Prairie League last night, "Amie" was the encore and highlight. Free concerts on the green have been good this summer, Blues Traveler next week.

moe. was good, but Rebebula (their closer) was the only one I recognized. I don't know if I wasn't paying attention or if they just didn't play anything off of Wormwood, Tins Cans and Car Tire, or W&A Vol. 3 (the ones I have other than No Doy).

Triumph has one song that I really love and the rest of it is just ok. I hear alot of them because they're CanCon.

Leper 07-16-2005 11:59 PM

I don't think Triumph is un-noticed. They get a fair share of radio time where i live. They're a good, i guess glam would be the way to describe them, band. They've got some songs i really like, but i really haven't heard much beyond their radio stuff.

A fight against Andre The Giant? Inconceivable!

Illmatic 07-17-2005 12:36 AM

Andre The Giant would destroy Dickey Betts.

Assuming he was alive.

JonG 07-17-2005 01:28 AM

Just got done watching the Bonnaroo 2002 movie. Pretty good, Gov't Mules performance was great, Warren Haynes is damn good at guitar. Widespread did Blue Indian which was great too. Weir and Lesh were pretty good too :)

Have any of you heard of Derek Bailey, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band or Tony Williams?

Lunch 07-17-2005 11:09 AM

Triumph just sounds bad based on the name of their songs.

/close-minded.

ATM 07-17-2005 11:13 AM

I bet they sound like Foriegner. Sort of bland classic rock.

Lunch 07-17-2005 11:14 AM

RNR would love them I guess.

Actually he probably already does love them.

Dana Carvey did a sketch parodying some some that started out "She's cold as Ice... Paradise" It is really quite the classic, it is during the credits of "The Best Of Dana Carvey"

...you know... the guy who played Garth in Wayne's World
