There's a Costco near where I live, haven't been there in a while. Maybe it went out of business.
|
I used to go to Costco a lot when I was a kid, back when we were members. Bi-Mart's so much more convienient though (so many around where I live).
But Costco was the only place that had Aronia Berry juice, my favorite drink of all time. I haven't had that in like four years, and I can still recall the taste on my taste buds....mmmmmm..... |

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Costco near where I live was built in an old airplane hanger. It's this massive cold grey steel building. |
The Costco I used to go to was in some huge warehouse. The best part of the place was the section with outdoorsy stuff like fishing rods, kayaks, and machetes. Aw man.
|
What is a "Costco"?
Does anyone know the tragic importance of tomorrow? |
The nearest Costco to me doesn't have free samples. Though, they used to, when they were under a different name.
Stonefree, you mentioned Q 107. Whereabouts are you? on a classic rock related note, I got a best of Lighthouse album today. They're better than the Guess Who, in terms of Canadian bands. Yup. np: Hats off to the Stranger - Lighthouse. |
I just got my first Byrds album! It's really good, I'm digging it.
|
Which one?^
Edit: 38 years ago (tomorrow) one of the greatest (if not the greatest) musicians died suddenly of liver cancer in New York City. Edit: Cream formed 39 years ago today. (BTW) |

Great album too bad it has "Christian Life" on it or it would be a 5 star album.
|
Heh..I'd rather not bring up that argument.
Anyway, that album is about the closest I get to country. Except for maybe Marshall Tucker band. |

Flying Burrito Bros > Countrified Byrds (Sweetheart of the Rodeo days)
Perhaps the greatest musician dies of a shot liver 38 years ago tomorrow. I'm drawing blanks. |
John Coltrane! Play Love Supreme tomorrow in respect to him.
Workingmans Dead > Any other Country Rock album |
I have a soft spot for Marshall Tucker band. Best driving music ever.
|
John Coltrane! Play Love Supreme tomorrow in respect to him.
Nashville Skyline > Any other Country Rock album
Fixed. |
Nashville Skyline is good but it's no elite. Grateful Dead easily kill anyone when it comes to Country Rock.
|
I always thought the Dead were more..folk based. I never really grouped them in with the country rock bands.
|
I beg to differ...IMO the Grateful Dead is another band that is pretty boring.
|
They're a good chill out band. Also they have awesome driving songs.
They rule in Festival Express. That DVD rules alltogether. |

I thought you didn't like the Grateful Dead? |
^ No you fool.
Classic rock goes all the way back to 1961
Classic rock is rock from 50's to 80s in my opinion |
Nashville Skyline > Any other Country Rock album
Nah, you're incorrect sir. |
I'd say the "Guilded Palace of Sin" is...one of the best, at least. You can't beat Gram Parsons at country rock.
|
Yea, he's kind of the king of it. Though he did venture into strait up Country quite a bit. G.P. and Grievious Angel, large portions of those are as Country as it gets.
IMO the Grateful Dead is another band that is pretty boring.
I'll post G-ful D. that'll blow yo' mind. |
Nashville Skyline is good but nowhere close to Workingman's Dead.
|
I thought you didn't like the Grateful Dead?
No, but outside of their Country Rock material I find them extremly boring. |
I always thought the Dead were more..folk based. I never really grouped them in with the country rock bands.
In some cases they are more Folk Rock, but overall their more Country Rock; they play electric and usually include a full band. Find the album Reckoning. It's an all acoustic live album filled with tons of traditional tunes, originals and covers done in a more Folk form. Very underrated album, I may post it sometime. |
^Now would be a good time, I was just looking at that album on Amazon.
( :p ) |
I can't give it to you now. El Mariachi will be on soon and my brother will erase whatever is downloading when I'm gone.
I will give you this traditional cover off the album though. It's one of my favorites and is kind of sad. http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3ML0C4XV8I5UH0L91BKKNR1CDF |

Anybody wanna upload Nashville Skyline?
:) |
Anybody wanna upload Nashville Skyline?
:)
Yea, I can do it. |
Workingman's Dead > Nashville Skyline
I'm on about page 105 of Searching for the Sound: My Life With The Grateful Dead. Everyone in this thread should read it. I just got back the the Allmans. Classics they played: Trouble No More, Midnight Rider, Stand Back, Melissa, Jessica, Statesboro Blues, and Southbound (with Al Scnier from moe.) New stuff: Maydelle, Instrumental Illness, Woman Across the River, and Rockin' Horse That may not be all, but it's what I can remember. Highlights: All the old stuff they did. Low points: Oteil's solo could've been longer, AND some guy got the fuck beat out of him right next to me during the drum solo. They were these two big guys punching this dude in the back of the fucking head. I mean WHAT THE FUCK!?! I really hope the guys go to jail for as long as legally possible, they easily could've killed him or given him some serious brain trauma. I have no idea why the fight started either, it was too loud for any kind of verbal arguement. |
No Whipping Post?
:( I'd love to see the Allmans. |
Who would fight at an Allman Brothers concert? Those heartless bastards.
