I should've made a list but I'm too lazy right now to think of Metalcore plus I haven't listen to much Metalcore lately or at all but some of the bands mentioned on some of those lists are pretty mediocre. A lot of essential/awesome **** of course but still, Misery Signals? Norma Jean? siKTH? The Chariot? meh.

and Watchmaker are not metalcore.
Look at who's compiling the list lol.

Apoc 04-07-2010 06:53 PM

kinda surprised tbh, whatchu guys got against SikTh?

RetiredAt21 04-07-2010 06:56 PM

I'm just not into them.

xMalcolmXx 04-07-2010 07:46 PM

they have cool parts, but listening to a full song is usually a chore

HighandDriving 04-07-2010 08:21 PM
Look at who's compiling the list lol.
I added The Chariot, I took the other three from Mappy, hurrr.

Added only a few cause you both named all the good bands. I disagree with some of the albums pick but fuc k it, this is the beta master metalcore list.

List needs more Hatebreed

:amaze:

HighandDriving 04-07-2010 08:26 PM

I'm thinking of removing The End, cause I don't think anyone listens to em.

Pete 04-08-2010 06:24 AM

yeah a Hatebreed album would be essential, i'd go for "perseverance"

also, add fukn Ion Dissonance

The Feeding 04-08-2010 07:53 AM

haven't listened to them in a LOOONG time

witchxrapist 04-08-2010 09:09 AM
yeah a Hatebreed album would be essential, i'd go for "perseverance"
Rise Of Brutality is the only Hatebreed album I can stand, and that's in very small doses, but they're def one of the most influential metalcore bands out there, so yeah, they should make the cut.

witchxrapist 04-08-2010 09:11 AM
What, no Killswitch? :D

Haha, thanks WxR, I guess I know what I'll be doing this summer. :thumb:
NP bru. And idk, I used to love KSE but I just grew out of them sometime during high school.

And the funny thing is back when I was into stuff like that I couldn't stand Dillinger (which is bizarre because I love whitebelt grind), but somewhere along the line they just clicked with me.

HighandDriving 04-08-2010 09:23 AM

You guys honestly wanna put Hatebread on the list?

When I was like 18 I subjected myself to listen to DEP's CI while I would cut the lawn.

witchxrapist 04-08-2010 09:26 AM

I don't like Hatebreed, but you seriously can't have an essential metalcore list without one of the most influential metalcore bands of all time.

HighandDriving 04-08-2010 09:37 AM

One more person should ok, though.

Also for any noobs who care, The Human Abstract now has the screamer/guitarist from FFTL and The Color of Violence as their front man. Pretty jokes.

Apoc 04-08-2010 09:55 AM

The Human Abstract was always a bit of jokes.

and ugh I neg the Hatebreed suggestion. Influential or no they're just awful.

xMalcolmXx 04-08-2010 10:09 AM

nocturne was ok but everything else is terrible. new stuff will continue to be terrible.

Xplisit 04-08-2010 10:56 AM

man Diablerie is soo good

2muchket! 04-08-2010 11:21 AM

Ion Dissonance should be on there. Watchmaker should.

If it's a definitive list then Hatebreed should have a place, if it was an elite one then I'd ofc say no.

The Feeding 04-08-2010 11:28 AM

every single hatebreed song has the same riff and lyrics

Xplisit 04-08-2010 11:35 AM
man Diablerie is soo good
werd

HighandDriving 04-08-2010 11:37 AM

It's a definitive/elite list. It's a list of bands and/or albums that the majority of the metalcore thread approves of, something that would point noobs in the right direction. Do we really wanna be responsible for getting noobs into Hatebread?

phil_ares 04-08-2010 11:52 AM
Do we really wanna be responsible for getting noobs into Hatebread?
I'm nowhere near the elite status of you fagz, but even I have reservations of putting Hatebreed in such list as this.

Did they really bring anything new to the table? Plus they are annoying. Unoriginal after one album.

No place here imo.

RetiredAt21 04-08-2010 01:16 PM
man Diablerie is soo good
Backed hard.

Hatebreed should definitely be on the list.

shortz 04-08-2010 03:40 PM
You need better maths skills.
Probably, but then again I didn't care for BTBAM the first few times I listened to them, then when I saw them in concert, I really enjoyed it (though I couldn't understand one word he was saying haha).

Perhaps I have to give it time.

Damn looks like I have a LOT of Metalcore albums to listen to.Also how did American Nervoso make the list and We Are The Romans didn't?

Xplisit 04-08-2010 04:08 PM

i wondered the same

2muchket! 04-08-2010 05:00 PM

I have most of those

SlightlyEpic 04-08-2010 05:01 PM

I think I might start getting the ones I don't have on that list, sort of apprehensive though

Not calling Hatebreed important to metalcore is like saying The Who isn't important to rock. In hindsight they weren't that good, but they still influenced.
