Nice vid

Duman 06-13-2006 03:18 AM

That's a really cool video. I love it when they deal with things like that in such a great way. The way he just comes in for the main riff is just too awesome. The guy recording though..

Thought they had no support act?

nowitzki 06-13-2006 07:19 PM

Tool were amazing again tonight. There was no support band, and the set was a little short again (the same set we got at Download minus The Pot plus Right In Two), but incredible while it lasted. There was also a really cool drum solo from Danny.
While the festival performance was amazing, indoors gave it a whole different atmosphere, and the light and video shows seemed all the more impressive.

Darkness 06-13-2006 07:33 PM

What's with the screwy updates (more then normal) on Toolband?

JamJar 06-14-2006 09:25 AM
Thought they had no support act?
On the ticket it said plus special guests, but there wasn't a support. It was a really good show but I really wish that I was seated. I was behind a total giant and there were three people in front who kept hogging the water which was passed out. I was about six people from the barrier. Also I thought that they really shouldn't have started with Rosetta Stoned. They need ed to start with something whihc would be easier for the crowd to get into the show. Overally the highlight was definitely the encore and Aenima was totally amazing.

I stood a bit further back, where it wasn't too crowded, you would have got a great view there seeing as the floor slopes upwards at the back (but then again me being 6'4" seeing the stage is never really a problem :p ). I wasn't too fussed about being right up close, seeing as was right near the front at Download, and the place was roasting hot.

Samm 06-14-2006 05:18 PM

I've just got back from seeing TOOL at the Hammersmith Apollo (London, UK).

I was say it was incredible but I don't feel that quite captures how I felt about the Performance. I don't remember the exact order but here was the Set List.

Stinkfist (opener, extended version)
Jambi
46 & 2
The Pot
Rosetta Stoned
Schism (with double speed bridge)
Sober
Intension (alitte)
Right In Two
Lateralus
Vicarius
Aenima (closer)

The extension in Stinkfist was ok, but the double speed bridge in Schism was awesome. Danny was just going nuts. I wasn't at the front but pretty damn closer and was watching Justin intently between heavy headbanging.

They could have gone into a 2 hour jam session, for all I care, AS LONG AS THEY PLAYED LATERALUS. It was so incredible, I was almost in tears.

Pretty Good!

menikmati 06-14-2006 06:26 PM

I would actually kill someone if it meant Tool would play Lateralus too me.

penelope weird hands 06-14-2006 08:12 PM

Argh.. lucky bastards getting to see them.
I can't complain though I saw them when they were here last. '02 I think?
Hope they come back here..

^ Lateralus is quite the experience live, lifts everyones mood, very inspiring.
When I saw them that was what they finished with and they all hugged at the end. hehe. Awesome.

Slightly off topic.. but, does anyone else think that 10,000 Days is brilliant to walk/ride/drive around to?
I love walking around when it's cold and overcast.. for me, it intensifies the listen and sets great mood.

Tool's set at Download was the only time I have ever cried watching a band play live. It seriously moved me, Lateralus being the peak.

Well done.

I pretty much cried when I saw Bloc Party close the Reading festival last year with The Pioneers. That song is so powerful at the end, the lyrics always have me. Then when they finished, everyone was cheering for about 5-10 minutes, and no-one was leaving the tent. They were all crying on stage, and thanking us for the best day of their lives.

They went off momentarily and came out to play my favourite song of theirs, called The Answer. I was the happiest man alive when they played that.

When I saw Muse I was a bit of a state when they finished aswell, haha. All the confetti, it was just such a huge build up, and i'd been waiting years and years to see them live. I'm sure that if I saw Lateralus live (my favourite song ever) i'd actually cry.

My ears dont work. I stood right in front of AJ all show 2nd night, so i got the full force of his amps.

No regrets though, those 2 shows were amazing. I might write up a bit more in-depth about them later

A Perfect Circle

I mean Im not the biggest Tool fan, actually i really haven't listened to that much of their stuff, but i hav listened 2 a perfect circle and they are so awesome. I love how they can range their music from hardcore songs like 'counting bodies like sheep' to the acapella 'fiddle and the drum' and their version of John Lennons 'Imagine'. They really are artists and want so badly to get my hands on a tool album or the like so i can appreciate it. I also like how Tool hav that image that they never tour and release cds once every six years or so. It truly is remarkable. Plz excuse my naivety if i hav misquoted any info

Syncratic 06-15-2006 01:38 PM

Singing praises of that song to the wrong people on these boards will get you killed.
