Badmoon now prefers to drink alone.

ArrestThisMan is now Slug, but he hasn't come here in a while.
Ok, I thought Slug looked suspiciously ATM-ish

So when I was in Spain I was wearing my Bob Dylan shirt and some French girl came up to me and asked me where I got it, (at a concert, but I gave her a website) and she proceeded to tell me how lucky I was to live in a country where he was touring. I never really felt lucky until then

(only CR story from my trip to Spain)

Who's ATM? ;)

It is wicked cool, I want to go back, but since thee were about three and a ahlf terrorist attacks in Europe while I was there, my parents aren't too eager to let me go back

Yeah, something liek that, she asked me in Spainish, but I only picked up camiseta, so I said "huh?" and she asked me in English. By my last day I probably would have been able to manage a conversation

Hablas espanol, Badmoon?
The Byrds > Yardbirds

IMO

Though they shouldn't be compared; they aren't that similar.
I definitely disagree...I find The Byrds to be really boring.

You were in Spain? When/where? My gf is in Spain

BludgeonySteve 07-16-2005 03:56 PM

I took spanish in school last year. Which is odd because it's Canada. We're all forced to take french, I got to trade french for spanish (this is the first year they ever offered a spanish class).

ok, I don't think she is/was in any of those places...the only place I know she is/was is Barcelona.

And no, she's not from Philly...why do you ask? That's a random question. She's from Sacto, actually.
I met up with a bunch of kids from Philly that are in Barcelona now. One of them was really cool, he was having trouble learning guitar so I recommended the guitar forums on this site. Maybe he'll be around, if anyone comes looking for me try to be nice to them, I'll bitch him out in an e-mail if he's too n00b ish :D
Well, no, she's not from Philly...and it sounds like you've got a crush. Ooh-la-la.

I think it's cool that part of Canada speaks French. You learn so much about your own language that way

I haven't listened to Bitches Brew yet, but In A Silent Way is a tough competitior.

You should Bitches Brew is one of my favorite albums. Behind A Love Supreme it's my favorite Jazz album. In A Silent Way is great and was quite revolutionary but it doesn't compare to the druggy solos and dark grooves of Bitches Brew.

What's that Calexico album you guys talk about so much?

robo2448 07-16-2005 05:26 PM

I bought Eric Clapton- Rainbow Concert this afternoon. It's amazing. It's like a long jam session. I know I'm supposed to be saving up money for the possible Cream show, but I can't resist.

And I take Latin. I find it incredibly easy, but everyone else finds it impossible

Welcome back Walrus

Lunch 07-16-2005 05:27 PM

Probably Convict Pool. And I agree, Bitches Brew is an amazing album.

I also took Latin for my first two years in high school, but then the teacher left and we couldn't get another one. I did pretty well.

robo2448 07-16-2005 06:36 PM

Has anyone heard the album I bought? It has Pete Townsend and Ron Wood. If you don't already know, this took place in 1972, and Eric Clapton had been fighting a heroin addiction and had not performed in public for a few years except at Concert for Bangladesh. Pete Townsend organized this concert to get Clapton away from heroin and back into the music world. It's an amazing concert.

Today I went to the book store with my mom to get a guitar magazine while she got the new Harry Potter book for my brother, and I was looking through the books, and I found Searching for the Sound: My Life with the Grateful Dead by Phil Lesh so I made my mom buy it for my because she was buying a book for my brother.

/bad story , but only story

I just got it half an hour ago, so no.

If you are talking about Harry Potter, I'll probably read it after my brother reads it.

Latin is sweet. My friend and I teach it to ourselves and get credit for it.

It is really good. I missed it when I was in Spain, It gives a really good insight into the Beatnik/hippie lifestyle and roots in SF, since Phil Lesh seemed to witness it all (from what I have read sofar)

Go to Costco. I didn't even know it was coming out today, but I went to Costco for lunch (on weekends, I go to Costco and eat free samples for lunch) and there were hundreds of copies there.
