is this suppposd to be an elite list, a beginners list or a definitive list
Moreso just a definitive list.
is this suppposd to be an elite list, a beginners list or a definitive list
Elite and definitive.

HighandDriving 04-07-2010 12:35 PM

It can't really be an elite list if we have UO, Chariot, and Norma Jean on it.
...dude gtfo srsly.
They aren't man, sry you getting so riled up, and this is pretty much my thread now:cool:

RetiredAt21 04-07-2010 12:36 PM

You wish.

HighandDriving 04-07-2010 12:38 PM

Cha dude, this and the grind thread are practically mine, Lol. But seriously Justin you don't need to pms cause I exlcuded some of your elite bands.

RetiredAt21 04-07-2010 12:41 PM

Dude a lot of the stupid **** you listen to wouldn't even be around if it weren't for The Swarm and Left for Dead.

EDIT: you're starting to show how clueless you really are.

HighandDriving 04-07-2010 12:42 PM

Cool story bro.

So how about dat list?

RetiredAt21 04-07-2010 12:43 PM

I will not be satisfied until The Swarm and Left for Dead are added.

xMalcolmXx 04-07-2010 12:53 PM

L4D rules

HighandDriving 04-07-2010 01:00 PM

Fine, lets add both back.

Should we break them up into categories, like idk, 90's / Early 2000 / Modern? Something along those lines.

Txus 04-07-2010 01:12 PM

I should've made a list but I'm too lazy right now to think of Metalcore plus I haven't listen to much Metalcore lately or at all but some of the bands mentioned on some of those lists are pretty mediocre. A lot of essential/awesome **** of course but still, Misery Signals? Norma Jean? siKTH? The Chariot? meh.

and Watchmaker are not metalcore.

Nepenthe 04-07-2010 01:23 PM

how bout who gives a ****

Txus 04-07-2010 01:23 PM

how bout i love you baby :3

Nepenthe 04-07-2010 01:25 PM

should we break our love up into different categories like sex/you buying me dinner/me cleaning you off when you spill food on your shirt/not sweating the little things/etc?

Txus 04-07-2010 01:29 PM

i love how you categorize yourself as a woman right from the start :)

And as long as sex is in on top of the list we are good to go :3

Apoc 04-07-2010 01:50 PM
I disagree with both of them, if other ppl don't back you up I say we hold off from putting them on the list.
I definitely back up Breathing Is Irrelevant.

Scoot 04-07-2010 02:10 PM

I don't know if we can talk about SikTh in this thread but I wish they reunited. :(

landonius 04-07-2010 02:13 PM

I do too. they were unique and ****ing amazing.

Apoc 04-07-2010 02:24 PM

SikTh was one of the best metal bands, period. I always wonder if they fit here or in the progressive metal thread. pretty sure they fit in both. same with btbam; TSC made it into our definitive metalcore list but by the time they got to Alaska onward it's really not metalcore anymore..

HighandDriving 04-07-2010 02:33 PM

SikTh was one of the best metal bands, period.

Wowzors.

TimJim 04-07-2010 02:34 PM

SikTh annoyed the **** out of me at times

Txus 04-07-2010 02:34 PM

yeah, not even close

Apoc 04-07-2010 02:40 PM

I take back nothing

shortz 04-07-2010 03:07 PM
Architects, Shai Hulud, Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, and Oathbreaker are all awesome
I've tried numerous times to get into DEP, but I can never seem to do it, I don't know what it is. And for ETID, is there a specific album to start with? Or should I just go from the beginning?
I consider these essential metalcore:
A crap load of bands
What, no Killswitch? :D

Haha, thanks WxR, I guess I know what I'll be doing this summer. :thumb:

If you want their more 'tech' side, get Last Night in Town, if you want their best album get Hot Damn!

As for DEP, Miss Machine is considered a classic, and for good reason. I recommend starting there.

Where ETID is concerned, to add to Cocaine's suggestion, I really like The Big Dirty and New Junk Aesthetic but I'm in the minority on that one.

Tyler 04-07-2010 03:50 PM

New Junk Aesthetic is pretty decent.

You need better maths skills.

NJA is good but I wouldn't want somebody to start on tBD. Either Hot Damn or Gutter Phenomenon.

Apoc 04-07-2010 06:49 PM

fair enough
