We were talking about Robert Randolph the other day...I just found out I'm seeing him April 7th at Providence College (my bro's college) and he's with Talib Kweli. Next day is prom. That should be a good two days.
I'd like to see him. There are some good shows coming here this summer, Steve Miller, Deep Purple, Edgar Winter Band, and most likely the Allmans. |
Pray, my friend, pray.
 Well I've joined his mailing group, that's the first step. That's the first step. Anyways good night. and Happy easter. |
I"m going to do it. I've just got to. I feel so stupid right now, It's ridiculous.
Me too. The way I see it, what other chance do I have, is to start a blues band, and become good enough to be invited to the next "Crossroads". Like John Mayer. /not gonna happen. /or will it? ;) |

Yeah I've got quite a summer coming up...Bonnaroo and Lynyrd Skynyrd is playing with the Allman Brothers for a night that should be good, having them two jam together. I would love to see Steve Miller...I love him because he made music that actually sounded good while still rocking out. He's the man, sweet voice too. |

Yeah I'm going with two buddies and an industrial van. I'm equally stoked for the ABB/Skynyrd tour, I can just picture "Freebird" switching over to ABB and evolving into a sick 15 minute jam. |
Random: My hard rock cafe just got a new addition its Pete Townshend's SG that he played at Woodstock (the one he hit on the ground) and I got to touch it. :)
At the end of Revolution #9 the people chant "Paul is dead! Paul is dead! Paul is dead! Paul is dead!...." |
So, who does everyone wanna see live, before they die or you die?
(excluding Zeppelin and Floyd because everyone wants to see them, but it's not gonna happen) 1. Cream reunion/ Clapton (The tickets sold out 4 nights in 2 hours!) 2. Paul McCartney 3. Neil Young |
I'd like to see
Paul McCartney Simon/Garfunkel Lynyrd Skynyrd Led Zeppelin (i doubt they'll go on a reunion, they can't replace bonham) etc i've already seen clapton, if you can go DO IT! it's a great show |

It's nice to see a good Clapton talk in this thread. We don't talk about him much, but we do talk about Cream a lot.
That's my pick but it would cost sooooo much.
Next poll will be up in 5 min.
Yea, I know. But, I would probably mooch money and start a "Send MYR to a Paul McCartney Concert" fund at my school. Edit: Or scam the Make a Wish foundation into thinking I have AIDS and make them pay for it and backstage passes. |
Vote Robert Johnson!
|
Vote Robert Johnson!
What band was/is he in? Edit: I barely know anyone in the poll :( I bet Slash will get it |
Vote Robert Johnson!
No! Fogerty all the way. |
He wasn't in a band he was a Blues guitarist from the Miss. Delta around the 1940's. The legend about him is that he sold his soul to the devil for guitar skills. There are only 41 song recordings and only 2 pictures left of him. He died from poisoning by a bartender. (Robert sopposedly slept with his wife) You can understand why he is such a legend.
|

He is a good songwritter not guitarist. Robert was both. :thumb: Walrus: <<<<that's one of the 2 photos left. |
I voted Robert Johnson.

Cool then you remain a very cool person. |

Blues guitarist then? From that I now know that Rober Johnson > Slash, so thanks :D |
I'd like to see The Rolling Stones. I saw a bit of Sarsstock on TV a while ago, and the look like they put on a great live show.
Clapton too of course;) |
I would love to have see Van Halen play:)
|

What!!?!?!??! Are you serious? Your insane! :amaze: |
You really overrate Robert Johnson. The guitar skills back then weren't even as close to as they were in the 60's.
|
You shouldn't judge by time period you should judge by their skill. Badmoon Im disappointed in you for making a statment like that.

But it is true. If I pick a random guitarist from the 70's, and one from today, who will you guess is technically better? Plsu, Fogerty's skill is at least equal to Johnsons. I know it's hard for you to believe (fanboy ;) :p), but there are going to be some guitarists better than Robert Johnson. |

That is generaly true but not the point and it also shows how ignorant you are towards that time period.
Plsu, Fogerty's skill is at least equal to Johnsons. I know it's hard for you to believe (fanboy ;) :p), but there are going to be some guitarists better than Robert Johnson.
How can you compare simple riffs to complex sliding? Go play any Johnson song then try any CCR song and I'll promise that you will agree. |
I'd have to say Johnson is more talented simply because my dad who has been playing guitar for 30 years has an extremely hard time playing songs out of a Robert Johnson song book I got him. But, my cousin who has been playing for 4 years can play CCR songs with no problem.
