I'd like to add :
Buried Alive - Last Rites Buried Inside - Chronoclast Architects - Nightmares sikTh - The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait for Something Wild |
Agreed, minus Buried Inside. Editing now.
|
Also, deadguy's fixation on a co-worker is their best imo.
|
I agree, I guess I'll change some of them like Coalesce, but with bands like them and Botch it's hard to pick their "Magnus Opus", or "Go-To" albums.
|
****, I totally forgot about Buried Alive. They rule.
|
minus Buried Inside.
what  hm i might check some of the ones i dont have, haven't really listened to metalcore in a long while |
Systral - Black Smoker
most underrated album in the genre if you dont have that album in your list foad |
Shame we can't edit these lists into the first post, because this thread was started by that ****ing mook hbp.
Maybe starting a new one or getting the mods to edit them in would be a good idea. Also the list is quite beneficial to me, formatted my laptop and didn't have anything backed up (stupid I know but I am a poor student can't afford a external HD for a few weeks) so it's been a reminder of some the more obscure artists and albums I couldn't remember. |
most underrated album in the genre

Ya I don't know which one of you guys introduced me to them, but thanks.
|
I introduced mad noobs to the world of elite metalcore.
|
You calling me a noob.....punk.
|
Dude at one point you were listening to entry-level stuff pretty much exclusively.
|

Come up with something definitive and I will. |
Dude at one point you were listening to entry-level stuff pretty much exclusively.
 BBTS, Cave In, Botch, Coalesce, Knut, and Integrity have been some of my favourite metalcore bands for almost 3 years. I was talking about these guys before you even came back from your hiatus. Ya I like some Mappy bands, sue me. |
I can, actually, edit it into the first post. Come up with something definitive and I will.
Just merge me, Justin, Frankie, and HAD's lists together, and add a few bands you think should fit, cause I know you listen to some elite metalcore too. |
Yo Mappy whatcha think of the list below?
I can, actually, edit it into the first post. It's def a good list.
I'm telling you if we mixed me, you, Liam, and Justin's lists we'd have pretty much the perfect list of essential metalcore, even if I don't like everything you listed (i.e. Fear Before). Can't believe I missed Cave In. |
Are 7 Angels 7 Plagues like Magnum era MS or Controller era MS?
|
Better.
|
Oh, Despised Icon - The Healing Process and Ion Dissonance - Breathing Is Irrelevant should be on the essential metalcore list, just because of how influencial they are to the deathcore scene, while staying quite metalcore ruited.
And 7A7P isn't really that much like Misery Signals. It's more a lot of cleaner guitars doing airy melodic riffs and breakdowns with REALLY raw vocals. |

But Rifs Before Recess are too deathy to be considered metalcore and ATTS, while similar to metalcore, is pretty much whitebelt. You'd like Fear Before - Art Damage, it's way different from their other stuff, sicccck riffage. Rifles At Recess is one of those early deathcore bands that was still mad hardcore, imo, like listen to Here's To The Broken Boys or I Died Twenty Times In 1986.
Same with Despised Icon and Ion Dissonance. It's the new deathcore bands that wouldn't make the cut imo, cause I mean, it's just bad death metal + breakdowns. As for As The Sun Sets, I've seen this debated lots of places. They definitely have a mix of "mathcore" and whitebelt elements, and just their whole influence on the fake-grind-that's-actually-metalcore scene is through the roof. |

Justin, you can't expect everyone to remember every elite band, that's why we're compling this list as a group. :)
BUT I DO BOW TO YOUR MASTERY. Also, some sputnik noobs response to my 30 essential metalcore albums list I posted last night: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=43518  Oh, also need to be added: Aftershock - Propaganda Starkweather - Crossbearer Overcast - Fight Ambition To Kill |
I will fight anyone who I feel isn't properly heiling elite metalcore.
EDIT: hahahaha that list looks like it was made by this dude I know. |
Dunno what else you missed but you left out Left for Dead and The Swarm, noob.

At least the list has O'God the Aftermath. |
