Meh, I remember I recorded the bass part for Seek and Destroy (well, I still have to do the distortion/wah fills as well as a second part, and bounce them together, but they're not necessary), but as a whole, we never did anything. I'd still like to!

EDIT: I could probably do Bells for you one time if you wanted, Chu? It would just be to go with the recording you've already done I guess, but nonetheless, the offer is there. If you want to get me a copy of it sent, I can play along to it probably.

Me too, but rhythm. It sucked thuogh

Battery solos are about half as hard as I thought they were.

Chu 10-12-2005 02:10 PM

So you can do them?! :D
If there's a regular here who would do the Battery rhythm?
Otherwise, I could try it, or if not get Slapping Penguin to do it...

P.S. fatbandit, I still have your bass recording :D

Edit: Just posting this:
Joe - 1569
JillyBo - 1184
JACKROXYOU - 844
Chu - 812

I'm catching you

fatbandit, I did like your bass :D

fatbandit 10-12-2005 02:11 PM

Meh, I thought my Seek and Destroy sucked, but everyone in here thought it was good (except one guy who told me I was playing the intro wrong, and everything about it was wrong. Yet I played the same as the tab which he posted... )

Jev 10-12-2005 02:12 PM

Yay I got my first gig tomorrow. I'm kinda nervous but there's 4 bands playing and we're the first on. I'm wearing this awesome jacket with tassles.
/off topic rambling.

fatbandit 10-12-2005 02:13 PM

I'm up for recording anything by the way :)

If you want me to record some Battery, I shall.

Biggest problem is drums.

Well, I guess you have a drummer, so if you can get recordings of him, that's all good. Otherwise... Its down to MIDI drums! ^_^

:smash:

Chu 10-12-2005 02:15 PM

I have a drummer, who doesn't have doubles

fatbandit 10-12-2005 02:15 PM

Ah, gigs...

I'm always still nervous and shaking until one or two songs in.

Helps if you open with something you know there's no chance of you fething up.

I still can't look at the crowd. Puts me off playing so much

:upset:

:smash:

Britton 10-12-2005 02:15 PM

That's funny.

I don't think I'm gonna record anything but I could do the editing.
I was going to dallas this weekend but I got busy and My mom said
I needed to stay home. My perents are heading up there to Buy two
cars.

Haha, I sweat so much when I play in front of people I'm going to need a towel on stage.

No, you're not.

I could do them but they'd take awhile. I was just playing them (heavily improv'd) just now. I'd rather play a song like Master of Puppets (if we could find some others here willing to record 8 mins of music) or Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
Haha, I sweat so much when I play in front of people I'm going to need a towel on stage.
There's a club up the street from me for teens and my band for some reason refuses to play there even though there's a real stage and a crowd all the time. I don't get it. So I've never really played up on a stage (i've played in front of hundreds though)

What about, say Creeping Death? <3 Ride The Lightning :D

And yeah man, I am catching you, albeit slowly.

fatbandit 10-12-2005 02:25 PM

I don't mind what we record really.

I'm up for any song. I know *most* of the common/popular ones probably.

I'm also capable of compiling tracks and Bouncing them into an mp3, if thats a help.

I actually don't know that one but I was going to learn it a few days ago. I'm going to look at it now

Sounds good with me too. I've got the jist of most of their popular and common ones but only a few I can play completely

Chu 10-12-2005 02:28 PM

Well I really can't commit to anything just yet, and my guitar skills are nowhere near (Well, maybe Creeping Death :D), but once I have got Master of Puppets down, I'd LOVE to do say 4 minute version of it :D
But of course, we have to have fairly audible bass!!

fatbandit 10-12-2005 02:29 PM

Obviously, for me, Seek and Destroy is easiest, as I already have it done

Uhm... I'll let you guys decide though. The guitars are harder parts to play than the bass, so up to you.

:smash:

Chu 10-12-2005 02:31 PM

How about say a MetallicaMedley?! :D

fatbandit 10-12-2005 02:31 PM

If I mix it, the bass will be audible :p

:smash:

Jev 10-12-2005 02:33 PM

Hey if you need a drummer I can *try* and get my friend to help.

Joe 10-12-2005 02:35 PM
How about say a MetallicaMedley?! :D
I actually put one of those together a few months ago. I have no idea where it ended up. It started off with the intro to battery and then there was some blackened, FWTBT, and some other things.

Creeping Death rhythm isn't too bad, I can't find the tab to the solo anywhere.

And chu, could it be the middle four minutes? that's the best part of the song.

fatbandit 10-12-2005 02:37 PM

Joe - tried a Guitar Pro/Powertab file?

:smash:

I have the full Creeping Death in PowerTab?

I was thinking maybe from the start, obviously you have to include that middle solo though :P

Not yet. I have the RTL Book it's at my mom's and I was just MXing for it. I'll see.

Chu 10-12-2005 02:41 PM

<3 The Creeping Death solo, hell I just love Ride The Lightning in general :D

fatbandit 10-12-2005 02:44 PM

Hmm, I wouldn't mind if we did do MoP. Nothing saying I have to record it all at once. I'd import the song to Cool Edit, then play along. Then afterwards, delete the song out. Seems the easiest way to me?

:smash:

metalmilitia101 10-12-2005 03:04 PM

wow...you guys sound like geeks to me. so you record, send it over the internet, someone else records, then you send it on? i'm a kick *** drummer but i don't have that great of a recording set up so i prolly won't oblige.

btw happy...you havent played a show yet? it sounds like you're pretty good at guitar. haha and yeah i used ta get nervous in front of the crowds until i did white summer by led zeppelin on guitar while sitting on my drumset and in the fast part pumping the high hat and the bass, it was crazy. after that nothing made me nervous haha. just adrenaline and excitement

Chu 10-12-2005 03:07 PM

Well, if you know of another way we could get drums going!
At the moment, I just have my brother record into a microphone (Likes those that are iPod Recorders or whatever), yea, horrible sound quality, but it works.

metalmilitia101 10-12-2005 03:09 PM

yeah that is basically what i do...i record on a microphone into a multi track recorder on my computer. i'm currently experimenting with muffling/placement/range to see if i can make it better. man someimtes i just take out the old tape recorder and put a tape in and it sounds better than going into a mic lol.

I:

love recording,
have no drums,
love metallica,
can play a lot of good metallica songs,
and so if i get to record, have drums, and play metallica songs there's no problem with it.

But yea, I won't deny I'm a dork, but geek is a liiiiittle too pushin it.

You've been saying a lot about iPod recorders and I still have no idea what it is.
