I have the 15" crash and 14" hats. They're both awesome. Thats why i reccomend them so much.

For a splash i highly reccomend this:

ill probably go with either the pro sonix or the Sabian B8 and get a splash, tbut i also will need 2 extra stands as at the mo i have a hi hat stand and one stand for my crash/ride, any preferences? i need cheap but sturdy

Hey there, limited budget, tried to research before I posted, just wanted to see what the difference between the Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal & Sabian B8 Series Rock Crash Cymbal.
I ran across what might be a good deal at the local music shop on the thin, but I can't tell much difference on any sound clips on the rock. They're similar in price so I am swaying back & forth. Thanks a lot!

poppinfresh 01-26-2006 04:50 PM

if your going for beginner cymbals go for xs if you can.

ringworm 01-26-2006 06:10 PM

Yes, I know they are very good for the $$, but...

Anybody else?

chewaz 01-26-2006 07:20 PM

B8 rock crash is higher pitched than the thin crash, i like the B8 performance better than the B8 rock,
AA 20" chinese trad or HH thin chinese 20"?
Have not tried the HH thin but i will tell you that AA chinese cymbals are great...they are bloody loud and dont ring out for a long time. I own the 18 trad.

123123 01-27-2006 03:30 AM

Tim 01-27-2006 03:32 AM

whats your max budget? dont get anything really cheap, youll end up replacing it anyway because it will most likely sound terrible . Cheap rides sound like ***.

I need some help/suggestions on buying a new cymbal.

I currently use a Zildjian Z Custom 18" Rock Crash, Z Custom 14" Dynobeat Hihats, and a Zbt 20" ride. I know most people on here don't like the Z Custom crashes, but I love mine, just a tad bit too loud/bright.

Anyways, I was thinking of getting an A Custom 17" Medium crash or an 18" A Custom Medium crash, however, I don't know which one to get, and which one would compliment my 18" Z Custom pretty good. So I'd like everyone's opinion on what I should get. I'm open to other suggestions as well, I mostly play Thrash Metal and some jazz from time to time.

ouch trying to play jazz on z's? man thats gotta hurt. anyways i would go with the 18. a bit more cut in louder situations and still great for lighter playing too.
