Not to mention the only ones still alive :upset:
What do y'al think of this new INXS show? Lot of people doing classic rock covers on there; this one guy did a rearranged funky cover of California Dreamer thats actually quite cool in its own right. Plus the show has Brooke Burke, which makes it perfect by itself ;)
shes so fine. theres nothing else to say. edit: except to possibly make fun of my usage of "fine." |
All this Who talks reminds me that I just picked up the Pete Townshend biography - Behind Blue Eyes, any one read it?
Nope, but I most definitely plan to, once I'm finished reading The Godfather. |
Ugliest bands of all time:
1. Allman Brothers Band 2. http://www.messyoptics.com/bird/LrgD&B2.jpg ^Berry and Duane...Gregg is worse!
I think that Lemmy is the undisputed king of rock ugliness. There's a rumour that mole on his cheek gives him magic powers  |
I think that Lemmy is the undisputed king of rock ugliness.
There's a rumour that mole on his cheek gives him magic powers
Actually, the mole is a small conjoined brother and he is actually the talent in the bad. The mole writes all the sings and sings. |
Come on, the Allmans aren't THAT ugly.
|
I don't think that uglyness has anything to do with rockerness (I know thats not a word :p ) I don't Tom Petty or Neil Young or Steven Tyler uglyness kept them from going anywhere. Right?
|
So....I just put a acid strip on my tounge and now I'm waiting for the effects to wear on....yep pretty boring for me. :p
Tripping music: (5 cd's lined up to listin to) 1. Piper at the Gates of Dawn 2. Tago Mago 3. Os Mutantes 4. Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band 5. Dark Side of the Moon NP: Flaming - Pink Floyd |
Mick Jagger is no pretty boy and look at the birds he scored and fame he attained.
|
The guy from the cars is pretty ugly.
|
Why are we talking about ugly rockstars?
Let's talk about Neil Young. Who, ironically, happens to be an ugly rocker also. NP: Don't Let It Bring You Down - Neil Young Edit: Who thinks Schyma is still tripping? |
Crime in the City is one of my new favorite songs.
|
Edit: Who thinks Schyma is still tripping?
It's possible, he's probably on the tail-end of the trip though. |
Who's seen the Last Waltz? You know that song they play with Clapton, and then Clapton's strap breaks, he fixes it but he screams something out.
The captions say he says "hold on" but my friends and I think he says "fuck!" |
I don't remember that part ;(
|
I don't remember that part ;(
It's a really small minute detail, that's probably why. |
Oh no, I missed the Who talk. My favorite part from TKAA is the My Generation at the Monterey Pop Festivel and then the montage of them smashing all their equipment up.

It`s such a good DVD though, it`s so hard to pick favourites! *Barabara Anne, give me your hand...* |
Ok, even I skip Barabara Anne when I watch it. Keith Moon should not sing.
|
Ok, even I skip Barabara Anne when I watch it. Keith Moon should not sing.
 It`s just soooooo funny though. I mean ofcrouse it`s not exactly a musical masterpeice, but it`s pure entertainment value is off the charts. |
Ok, even I skip Barabara Anne when I watch it. Keith Moon should not sing.
Amen. |
^^ I love the part before the song where they're all in the room trying to figure out how it goes. And also the guitar solos.
The only downside is seeing Keith Moon deteriorate throughout the course of the film. That last concert where they do Baba O' Riley and Won't Get Fooled Again (however orgasmic the slow motion part is) is just sad on Moon's part. He'd lost it by then. |
The other cool thing about it is how much The Who have fun with what they do. You're right, it's just entertaining to watch them.
|
Yeah, Pete's moving around so much it doesn't look like he's playing but he actually is.
|
I wish I actually owned the DVD.
|
Does everyone have the special edition?
|

Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band article that I wrote. Please read and comment when you have the time. |
Oh my god, Steven Tyler is the ugliest rock star evar.
And I have the "The Kids Are Alright" DVD, I just don't think I've ever watched it... |
well when you get a chance I highly reccomend you watch it.
I know I should...I've seen bits and pieces, but I've never sat down and watched the whole thing. |
About the Allmans and coke, one of their roadies (I thinnk his last name was Herring) got 75 years in prison for dealing coke to Greg in 1976.
|
75 years?
|
75 years?
According to Q 107 and my classic rock calendar, yes. |
That seems pretty harsh.
|

*does the math in head* Geez. That is harsh. |

The whole Freedom album is great, and quite underrated, IMO. I've heard it was his real comeback album in the late '80s, after he did the techno/rockabilly/country albums, and then got sued for it. np: Dylan - Don't Think Twice, It's All Right. I love the fingerpicking in this song. |
