You have to meet new people somehow. You're not going to get much out of your higher education experience if you don't expand your social circles. Rooming with your high school buds is fine down the road, but even the tightest of friends have disagreements over living situations/arrangements that first year. It's a stressful time for everybody, so you don't need to compound it by having a few weeks destroy the years you've known each other.
Yeah I know what you're saying, I'm sure I'd meet new people in school and stuff. It's not like I'm completely ruling out the idea of rooming with someone I don't know. :p

i lived in a house in england. it was 6 bedrooms and only 4 of us lived there so we had a gaming/drinking room and a room for random drunk girls to sleep in. Good times. I didnt know them before i moved in though

I'm rooming with a really good friend of mine now. I think as long as both of you don't have strong and abrasive personalities, you'll be fine. I'm probably not as great a friend with my roommate now because he's a roommate first and a friend second now, but we've never had an argument and go out of our way to make the other guy's life easier.

So yeah.

Living situations still get tough sometimes

I've found that to definitely be true.

And, coincidentally, I've lost about 30 pounds since I got here.

Kage: Wow, how much did you weigh?

If I dropped 30 pounds I would be like on my death bed =\

I weighed 235; I now weigh around 205.

I've always been fairly thin, but I look much more slender now.

big80smullet 02-03-2008 11:37 PM

A play on the "love it or leave it" meme.

Yeah, same here, I weigh about 57kg; losing that much weight would put me in a bad place.

Ah, well that's not too bad.

If I dropped 30 I'd be looking about 115-120 in the face heh =|

Angmar 02-03-2008 11:39 PM

I couldn't stand to loose any weight really, I just need to build up some more muscle.

Permanent Solution 02-03-2008 11:40 PM

I could lose some tummy and gain some muscle but I would gain weight if I did. When I was in shape I was closer to 165.

Kage 02-03-2008 11:41 PM

I'm really tall, so it all balances out.

And I've always had a fair bit of muscle mass, I think.
I couldn't stand to loose any weight really, I just need to build up some more muscle.
I probably should as well, but I have better things to do tbh. My future occupation does not require massive physical strength.

My dog just ate a freshly plucked booger from my hand btw.

big80smullet 02-03-2008 11:45 PM

Im 6'2 and like 230. i have a fair bit of muscle and a fair bit of fat as well tbh

Angmar 02-03-2008 11:46 PM

I put on a good deal of muscle during swimming, but my arms could still stand to get bigger by a good deal.

Permanent Solution 02-03-2008 11:48 PM

I've gotten used to the fact that I have small arms and take pride in my monster legs.

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-03-2008 11:50 PM

I've gained about 10 pounds, but it's mostly muscle/some beer belly. I should drink more hard A.

(and yes, less beer is probably not an option)

big80smullet 02-03-2008 11:58 PM

no its not

Kage 02-04-2008 12:00 AM

I don't drink much these days.

Nostalgia 02-04-2008 12:06 AM

Dude Jake, 'sup. We should smoke sometime. I was up in Tacoma Friday.

ATM 02-04-2008 12:10 AM

I'm 6'0 and about 175 pounds.

Nostalgia 02-04-2008 12:12 AM

I'm about 5'10 and 150 lbs.

Kingofdudes 02-04-2008 12:12 AM

I gained 10 pounds since I started school last year, but its basically all muscle since I work out a lot and dont put on any fat. Having a body structure good for muscles ftw

I'm 6'0 and 185 pounds

Permanent Solution 02-04-2008 12:25 AM
I don't drink much these days.
I've been drunk every night for over a week I think.

I'm 5'11, 145.

Kage 02-04-2008 12:26 AM

I've been stoned every night for the past 5 months.

Permanent Solution 02-04-2008 12:28 AM

Fair enough. One substance is good enough.
