I think that rep people with the ability to rep should hand it out a little more. For example, taking the time to listen to all the entries in the competitions in this forum is worthy of rep I think. NP: Obituary - 'Chopped In Half' Edit - By the way, ever tried switching off the loading images option in your browser? It gives you a little message about everyone's rep. I have a spectacular aura about me apparently. |

EDIT: Maybe the winner of the competition should receive rep, maybe they do already, I don't know.
Yeah, well most people tend to put in a well-thought out opinion anyway. I'd say that everyone who puts in a serious effort that they've really worked on deserves rep, but obviously it's not up to me (it's up to the people who have repping abilities). Edit - ICB, 1888 fan by any chance? |
The winner of the comp gets to decide what the genre for the next comp will be. Repping is all up to the people who have the stars.

In regards to the contest, guys:
I give out quite a bit of rep (100+), and as much as I'd like to rep everyone that participated and voted, I can't do that, because it would take me at least four days to rep everyone. And then what good would that be for the winner or winners? I have always repped the winner of the competition (since I've had stars and all that). I don't want to change that, and I'm sorry if you feel that you are getting screwed out of something. Please, don't feel that way. It's not my intention to hurt your guys's feelings. Speaking of the contest, I'm awaiting final word before I post the results. I understand your lack of patience, but it's always taken awhile. We just want to make sure everything is up to snuff and that no one will get screwed out of anything. Please understand my concern in regards to both stories. Thanks :) |
Wait - final word on what? Is there something you have to do other than tally up the points?
Que no? Never heard 'em/read it/watched it/whatever
Ah, I remember reading something about some NSBM that were called 1888 (as in Adolf Hitler Heil Hitler) but a MA search came back negative and a Google search came back with Dutch results telling me (I think) that it is a code throughout neonazism. So yeah, ignore me - my memory is failing me already.

No, sir.
Is that a good thing or bad thing for the rest of the world? :p
I'm going to go on a little shpeal here, but I'll save it for the end of the post, because I'll probably ramble on for a few minutes. ... but the answer's still no :)
Jom, your repping power hasn't been affected by the upgrade? Many people's seems to have fallen considerably.
Really? That sucks. I must have a lot of rep points, then :p
http://www.musicianforums.com/sputnik/album.php?reviewid=4005&genreid=8 Man, my new glasses are killing me.
Read, voted, and commented on, sir. /// I'll edit in my little shpeal here when I'm done with it. EDIT: Okies, shpeal time. I've been talking to a lot of MXers on MSN about some random things. One of the topics that came up was the topic of prom and marriage and all that other formal crap. I was talking with ILICIS and she was talking about how she's looking forward to her prom at school that's coming up down the road. I told her my story about how I didn't go to mine, and blah blah blah. Anyways, she was telling me about her plans and her dress and all this other stuff, and I said, "Hey, pretty soon, you can start planning for your wedding." She told me almost immediately after that she has been dreaming about that already as well. Maybe it's a girl thing, but I haven't spent two seconds thinking about a wedding. So many people look ahead to the future, and I never do because I'm always caught up with stuff going on in the present. I mean, I do recognize that people think about their future. But the future freaks me out (just kidding, I hate Motor City Soundtrack). And this shouldn't surprise me, though. Going back to what ICB said about me being sterilized and how that would make the world a better place: There are a couple people from my graduating class that have either a) gotten married, b) had a kid, or c) all of the above. One of the girls I used to be friends with freshman/sophomore year (a long time ago, in other words) before she went freakin' psycho was seeing this one kid, and she stopped taking her birth control randomly without telling him. So, yeah. Abortion? Nah, she had the kid and put it up for adoption. It just alarms me that people I graduated with or went to school with are already married or having kids. I mean, sure, I've been out of high school for awhile, but the no-birth-control girl was pregnant senior year. Yiiiiiiiiiiikes. It really does creep me out, but then again, it shouldn't. But yeah, I guess I was a bit surprised when she told me that she's been visualizing her marriage for years, while I'm busy visualizing what I'm going to do for my next paper at uni :-\ |
Hey, you might be on to something there...
... but the answer's still no Read, voted, and commented on, sir.
Thank you very much. :) How about this: if I win, instead of geting to pick the genre, you take me into your inner circle. If you don't, I'll be forced to write very, very small. |
In reference to last page: I dont deserve my rep :-/
Jom, you arent the only one like that. I am also like that, if anything im even more short sighted. |
Jom, you arent the only one like that. I am also like that, if anything im even more short sighted.
Haha, maybe, but I have no clue what tomorrow brings for me, so I kinda just sit there and let things happen, and then react where appropriate, heh. But it's good to know that I'm not insane for planning something 3-15 years down the road. That is, if that happens, hahaha :) |
I'd say I'm probably the same way, I don't really focus too much on future events.
Also, the pit is a great place to get rid of neg reps, quickly. And I've seen quite a few pregnant girls at my high school. |
Wow, sounds like you had some fools at your school. We had several girls walking around my school last year (a private Catholic school even) and I could only imagine why someone would be stupid enough to do that. I don't really think high school kids should be having sex anyway, but that's a different story.

I don't have a problem with people doing whatever they want so long as they're being responsible.
The reason why I'm not the biggest advocate for teen sex/alcohol use/drug use amongst teens is because more often than not, people abuse them or as stupid about them. Teen sex story: see my story about stopped-taking-BC-pill girl. Alcohol/Drugs: See: this thread I mean, if people are safe about it, then I don't care, it's their lives. I just choose not to do it. It's just that, every time I read the newspaper, the headlines are always, "Drunk Driving Accident Kills Family of Five" or "Stoned Teen Accidentally Shoots Friend" instead of something with a more positive connotation. Being me, I encourage the following: 1. If you're going to drink or do drugs, have a plan about how you're going to get home. I told my friends and roommates this year that I'd drive them if they needed to get picked up. I would rather have them get home safe than try to get behind the wheel and harm themselves or someone innocent. 2. Being educated about sex. This really isn't hard, since schools do a fine enough job with the whole biological part about that, but they don't really delve into the psychological. 3. To be safe rather than sorry. Yes, it's clichéd, but oh well :) NP: Andrew WK  |

Unfortunately, I go to a school where the entire point of drinking is to get drunk, throw up, have sex, and pass out. I love having friends that drink/do drugs very little/never.
I love having friends that drink/do drugs very little/never.
Well I like kind of the opposite. Most of my friends don't drink or smoke and some do a lot so it's nice because I'm kind of in the middle. I'd never smoke or do drugs but I like drinking (not to get drunk though. I don't understand people that get drunk at concerts. Don't you want to remember the show???) |
I have a drink to chill now and then, but I hate the environment of parties and so I never get drunk, because that's where everyone does.
I get really uncomfortable being in a really uninhibited environment with people that I don't know (and girls who, if I were really drunk, probably wouldn't have to work very hard to convince me to cheat on my girlfriend). So I just don't see the point in it. Not that I don't have a good relationship, BTW, it's just that I'm male. And horny much of the time. |

I don't drink with my drinking friends at all because they'll try and get me drunk. The most I've had is a drink or two, nowhere near drunk. I've only had drinks with my girlfriend (champange on New Years with my family) or at home with no one else over. But I know what you mean, with you drunk and other girls drunk it happens. |
I like to get drunk.
