I don't think it gets any bolder.

Badmoon 07-14-2005 09:23 PM

I wish he'd stop singing.
I wish he'd stop singing.
He has a pretty good voice actually. But watching him sing is another thing. His face becomes completely distorted.
I wish he'd stop singing.
You're right he's really not much of a singer but he can play the guitar

blue3 07-14-2005 09:25 PM

I don't like John Mayer

RockAndRoll 07-14-2005 09:32 PM

^ me neither

theidiots1234 07-14-2005 09:36 PM

classic rock is great. bob dylan is the man

drugstore cowboy 07-14-2005 09:39 PM
classic rock is great. bob dylan is the man
Never fails to amaze :p

Canadian-Guy 07-14-2005 09:44 PM

I think John Mayer is talented, but just does poppy material. He could become quite popular.

I never really got into teh drugs, not my scene. Never smoked pot once.

magicbus 07-14-2005 09:48 PM

I think Mayer could be as talented as SRV, I haven't seen him in a while. I like John Mayer, for the record.

Jam2Me 07-14-2005 09:50 PM

I always kinda laugh to myself when during the day I got high and my dad will get home and be like "What'd you do today?" And I either have no clue or, I'm honest when I respond "Nothing."

I wanna see who tries heroin or cocaine. I'll never touch heroin..cocaine MAYBE someday...seems like a lot of great musicians abuse those two drugs.

Anyone ever notice the pot leaves on the cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Second Helping" or the really trippy picture in the cover of "Eat A Peach"

I never understood the Allman Brothers and the mushrooms covering all of their stuff...I don't even know if they tripped a lot back in the day.

Woodstock 07-14-2005 09:50 PM

Robert Plant is supposed to be on Letterman tonight, which is on now Eastern Time. I'm gonna watch.

I'm uploading Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield now. For anyone who doesn't own it, do.
I never understood the Allman Brothers and the mushrooms covering all of their stuff...I don't even know if they tripped a lot back in the day.
I'm sure it's a safe assumption.

Jam2Me 07-14-2005 09:54 PM

Yeah but they mostly did heroin, coke, and drank.

Badmoon 07-14-2005 09:56 PM

I doubt they were big into heroin. If they were, I'm sure we would have heard about it in biographical stuff; usually heroin addicts end up spending time in a rehab, or someone dies, etc.

Alcohol - definitely
Coke - most likely, I can see Gregg snortin' a line.

Jam2Me 07-14-2005 10:02 PM

Duane is a famous heroin addict. He did it with Clapton in the Derek & The Dominos period. The band broke up because of heroin, Gregg plea bargained and blabbed about the band's manager supplying and buying heroin so the band thought Gregg was a traitor and parted ways.

Badmoon 07-14-2005 10:03 PM

:( Well at least I was right saying we would have heard about it.

Woodstock 07-14-2005 10:04 PM

Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells

Hehe, of course. You can't have southern rock without Alcohol. It's the law.

Lunch 07-14-2005 10:10 PM

You can't have any band without alcohol.

Jam2Me 07-14-2005 10:14 PM

They actually included a pic of Colonel Bruce, that's surprising.

BludgeonySteve 07-14-2005 10:22 PM

AC/DC owns their ugliness at being ugly.

Leper 07-14-2005 10:33 PM

Who here likes Emerson, Lake and Palmer? I heard a song of theirs on the radio today and i really liked it, so i was wondering if anyone who was really familiar with them could reccommend me some songs..

Seafroggys 07-14-2005 10:38 PM

^^^Lucky Man I'm guessing.

I think uglieness award goes to Keith Richards, especially nowadays.

magicbus 07-14-2005 10:40 PM

Joe Walsh is pretty ugly.

PinkFreud 07-14-2005 11:56 PM
Good to hear. If the Cream thing goes down, come with us, cause I'd do a road trip.
yeah, i might be up for it.

Against Miik! 07-15-2005 12:01 AM

I don't think Cream is going down.

Me: Mom, can I go to the Cream concert?
Mom: Sure, wheres it at?
Me: New York
Mom: Um who are you going with?
Me: Um some dudes I met on the internet...
Mom: :amaze:  ...no

Thats basically as far as that would get for me.

Seafroggys 07-15-2005 12:21 AM

Well I finally saw The Kids Are Alright the other day.

Holy crap its so awesome. I loved that last gig they did in the studio (with Baba O'Reily and Won't Get FOoled Again). That slow-motion shot right at the scream has gotta be the ultimate orgasm of rock music.

I'm now in love with See Me Feel Me.

Flaminghotchino 07-15-2005 12:27 AM

okay? if by okay you mean two of the most exciting and electrifying showmen of their time. not to mention that pete was a master songwriter and lyricist and roger had a nice set of pipes on him.

Jacaranda 07-15-2005 12:36 AM

All this Who talks reminds me that I just picked up the Pete Townshend biography - Behind Blue Eyes, any one read it?

Seafroggys 07-15-2005 12:38 AM

Not to mention the only ones still alive :upset:

What do y'al think of this new INXS show? Lot of people doing classic rock covers on there; this one guy did a rearranged funky cover of California Dreamer thats actually quite cool in its own right. Plus the show has Brooke Burke, which makes it perfect by itself ;)
