Same here. Damage Inc isn't that good. Although neither is St. Anger. There are better songs on both albums.
Yeah I agree with that.

Rattlehead 05-02-2006 12:02 PM

its an aquired taste, for sure. i never used to like it. now i love it.

Sadbutrue16 05-02-2006 12:06 PM

Hey all.... My family hunts first of all. Deer and anything really. Well our families taxidermist came over the other day. taxidermist is a person who mounts animals (stuff). He's a cool guy...knew him for years. Well he came into my room and oticed all my Metallica stuff. I also live in Northern California. he told me he does James's taxidermy. I don't know if many of you know but James does tons of hunting. On my poster even, James's fretboard on his guitar is decorated with huge bucks heh. Anyways he said he knows James (obviously) and Kirk. He friend owns a ranch right next to Kirks'. His friend actually asked him to shoot this thing in his front yard so he did...then later relized he jsut shot Kirk Hammets Peacock lol. He said James is cool but doesn't like "being famous". I can understand that though. On the otherhand he said Kirk is snobby and loves being famous heh.(oh well kirks still cool) He said he's going to try to get me some backstage passes though which will be kickass. I can't believe i known this guy for years and he never told me he KNEW Metallica......

Rattlehead 05-02-2006 01:04 PM

thats quite amazing... you can understand if i say that that is quite hard to believe, though.:p

2muchket! 05-02-2006 01:10 PM

123.

Also, I'm very picky about people spelling Kirk's last name with 1 T or M, so that's why I corrected it and highlighted it.

Soul_Under_Arrest 05-02-2006 02:13 PM

Yeah James is pretty laid back but he will talk to you. Kirk is also pretty cool but I got this feeling that he thought he was the ****.

2muchket! 05-02-2006 02:19 PM

I didn't think kirk was the one with the renowned ego.

E_man 05-02-2006 02:21 PM

I met Jason and he was totally THE most coolest guy I have ever met. I even had a little bass jam with him :smoke: great moment

Jev 05-02-2006 02:27 PM

Same here.
It's all a ploy.

edit: about Kirk.

Soul_Under_Arrest 05-02-2006 02:28 PM

I never got to meet Jason. He was always in another room you couldn't go in or he left the area.

Jev 05-02-2006 02:38 PM

I never got to meet any of them

Basically means you agree with the post.

MRDuCran 05-02-2006 02:55 PM

Erm, basically just a way of saying I agree, without saying anything specific. And because the minimum limit of characters for a reply in this forum is 3, you just spell out 1,2,3 so then you've used all 3 minimum characters. Hope that was clear enough. Then people can add 4,5,6 etc

Well its all true but if you don't want to believe thats your own deal and i understand it does sound insane.....picture being the ****ing person being told all this by your own taxidermist....i was speachless. Believe me or don't. Doesnt matter to me.

Jev 05-03-2006 01:02 AM

What I find rediculous is Kirk Hammett owning a peacock.

pye phyo ko 05-03-2006 01:43 AM

kirk hammet iscool. most of his solos are mixed up with wah-wah. it's hard to catch the tab really can u guys help????????

Jev 05-03-2006 09:19 AM

Just download Powertabs or Guitarpro.

Neoteric 05-03-2006 09:51 AM

Ooh trendy

Jev 05-03-2006 09:52 AM

If I hadn't ever had used them, I'd suck more.

Sadbutrue16 05-03-2006 11:45 AM

Yeah Kirk has a peacock.....he owns a ranch near where i live..in Sonoma. What's also funny is on the SKOM documentary it showed palamino horses(sp) ( the black ones that are big and have hairy feet). What's funny about that is he doesn't have any..they just put them in there for the movie..why? I dont know. My taxidermist also said even though Kirk is so god damn rich he hasnt fixed his gate which has been broken for years lol.

Rattlehead 05-03-2006 12:39 PM

That's weird. Maybe he was just at some random ranch?

2muchket! 05-03-2006 02:26 PM

Kirk Hammett is sounding like Ted bastard Nugent

Rattlehead 05-03-2006 02:31 PM

you what?

Chu 05-03-2006 09:42 PM
If I hadn't ever had used them, I'd suck more.
I feel it's like a double edged sword...

They're great, but as a result of using them, I'm fairly lazy, and rely too much on tabs (But I'm slowly learning to read notation, through my printed out Powertab songs  ), good **** though, I probably wouldn't be so into guitar if it wasn't for Powertabs/GuitarPro (The ease of use with them, the fact you can hear the song while you play it, etc).

Britton 05-04-2006 12:34 AM

I would still have my gay strat copy laying underneath my bed if I didn't have tabs.

Kirk is the bomb!

So I'm learning the Blackened solo. I had tried a long time ago and it always sounded off so I'm learning it again. I can't find the old tab that I had printed out but from the one part I had memorized I can tell that the tab was completely wrong.

all in all it's a lot of fun.

Jev 05-04-2006 01:00 AM

The Blackened solo is pretty easy. The only bit that messed me up is the 12p0h12 bits.

Enlighten Me 05-04-2006 04:41 AM

Even though Kirk is very a "basic" guitarist people underestimate him alot, or compare him to the likes of Vai, Malmsteen which is kinda dumb.
I think his solos are bada$$ even though they are 90% pentatonics, they fit well in the songs..

Squirrel 05-04-2006 05:36 AM

I remember a summer 4 years or so back, struggling my way though Creeping Death and Blackened's solos and thinking i was a god when i finally played them through.

Enlighten Me 05-04-2006 08:06 AM

What do you think is his hardest solo?
I just started learning Hit the Lights (or was that mustaine?) which is pretty fast.
It'll take me a while:rolleyes:

Huber 05-04-2006 08:17 AM

I think Hammett used all of his own solos on Kill Em' All, except I think I heard they kept one Mustaine one in the Four Horsemen or something.

Enlighten Me 05-04-2006 08:26 AM

Yeah, Four Horsemen must be his, Mechanix from KIMB is basically the same song.

Jev 05-04-2006 09:12 AM

Wrong wrong wrong. It's the other way round. All the solos on KEA are Mustaine's except for the first one in Four horseman and one in Jump in the Fire.

Squirrel 05-04-2006 09:21 AM

no idea, havent listened to metallica properly in years.

Jev 05-04-2006 09:23 AM

Apparently Creeping death is his hardest.
I haven't tried it.
