Smack the wench around, that will straighten her out.

Seriously though. I think that would be kind of cool, that was an interesting period in history, in my opinion.

I think a Ren Fest would be pretty fun, actually.

I began packing clothes, belongings, books, etc. for uni. Consequently, I am extremely down at the moment, heh.

Moses 08-20-2005 02:53 PM

I have to wear a big black cloak tomorrow in hot weather.

It does that with every Japanese band I listen to. Either ???? or something in Japanese typeface.

That is actually pretty cool and Johnny Depp is doing it.

Well I heard some crazy band today.

It was a saxaphone and drums and 3 tracks had a womans voice and the rest were instrumental has anyone heard anything like that before?

It was on tape it was my uncles which I am staying with at the moment I was looking for a comedy tape and I stumbled upon it.

It says nothing aside from saxaphone so anyone?

I just finished my spotlight on Peter Gabriel. This was one of the hardest to write, surprisingly. I guess it's because I wanted to keep things concise while still doing Peter justice. I grew up on his music.

Steerpike, very nice write up. I'll definately have to check out the man's work. I regret to say I haven't listened to any of it yet. Never too late, though.
Maybe I'll check out "Passion" when I visit Barnes & Noble next.

You wouldn't happen to have a heaping collection of old Genesis that you could let me have? I'm rather eager to hear the live version of "The Knife," which got an award from Music Junkies Anonymous @ geocities for being the most intense song in rock (in the reviewer's opinion), tied to "Fight Fire with Fire" by Metallica.

I'm also interested in hearing Steve Hackett invent two-handed-tapping five years before Van Halen.

You would not believe how upset I am to be unable to locate any of the early Genesis albums my parents had. :upset:

Steve Hackett used tapping to create a very spectral sound. That otherworldly ambience was a key to Genesis' earliest records. He only used it on a handful of songs, though. He didn't want to wear the novelty out.

Lord Abortion 08-20-2005 05:30 PM

Genesis and Rush are rather similar in my book, it's a large print book written in mental crayons, but it's my book, ok?

Little did he realize that it wasn't a novelty, it was an institution in the making. :)

Yeah, I doubt he could have predicted that the technique would become what it is today. At the time, he just used it to add some spice since very few musicians had tried it in professional recordings.

You need to either

1. Get a Japanese plugin for your browser
2. Have AS automatically change different languages to English

Lord Abortion 08-20-2005 06:52 PM

Well, I think that does for mine too, you have to have some sort of disk to install a language pack and I'm the world's premier loser of important PC disks

ah well...bedtime for me, work tomorrow

Riva 08-20-2005 07:06 PM

So, I'm listening to the Grease soundtrack. It's cheering me up, which I need, since my dog has developed a hernia. Poor fella, I can feel the loop of intestine held up with his skin. We're taking him back to the vet tomorrow, though, so hopefully the operation will be quick.
