I want to learn Orion al the way through the most.
Very good song to play, very easy, it's just a lot of repetition (Well, for the rhythm guitarist at least), I really have no intention of being a lead guitarist though, so no big loss :p

Jev 04-30-2006 04:07 AM

The solos aren't that hard either, it should be pretty easy to learn.

Rattlehead 04-30-2006 07:10 AM

S&M ftw, such a great performance in all aspects. especially James' voice.

NP: Battery

Joe 04-30-2006 07:28 AM

Agreed. That's my favorite concert out of all the ones I've heard.

NP: S&M video of Master of Puppets

actually, NP: Die Die My Darling video

They should have done Fade to Black

Jev 04-30-2006 08:49 AM

It didn't work apparently.

Rattlehead 04-30-2006 04:24 PM

aw, it would have been good :(

Jev 04-30-2006 04:34 PM

Yeah, I think so too.
And Orion.

Rattlehead 04-30-2006 04:35 PM

yeah, especially with an orchestral build up with that bassline in the middle:D

metallicaman8 04-30-2006 05:35 PM

does anyone have any info on when Metallica's next album is coming out. I heard something about it might some out early 2007, but I'm not sure

Diabulus in musica 04-30-2006 06:55 PM

i downloaded a sort of demo from the new album, its just the guitars, its has a st anger feel in it, altough it DOES have a solo

vashts80 04-30-2006 07:19 PM
i downloaded a sort of demo from the new album, its just the guitars, its has a st anger feel in it, altough it DOES have a solo
It wouldn't be Metallica - we'd know about it. They sued Napster over it, after all.

Diabulus in musica 04-30-2006 07:45 PM

yeah thats true, well it said it was metallica, the track was called, embracing the pain

Crysiss 04-30-2006 08:23 PM

Did u download it from a p2p network?

Diabulus in musica 04-30-2006 10:54 PM

i downloaded it from Limewire, its kind of crappy

Crysiss 04-30-2006 11:43 PM

Yea, Limewire is a p2p Program.

Almost Like napster. Dont get sued

Rattlehead 05-01-2006 04:33 AM

i downloaded it from Limewire, its kind of crappy
so what was your search?

Jev 05-01-2006 04:56 AM
i downloaded it from Limewire, its kind of crappy
It's not real.

Never trust anything like that.

Rattlehead 05-01-2006 07:16 AM

thats a relief, apparently it was "kind of like st. Anger"

heres for continued hope!

Jev 05-01-2006 07:53 AM

If anything was leaked there'd be about 30 threads saying "new Metallica material!"

Diabulus in musica 05-01-2006 12:33 PM

hahahaha well thats true.....i just typed metallica, and there was this file that said, "demo from the new metallica album".....and i was like "holy s h i t
That's just called being an asshole.
You8'ld be very surprised with the way Lars acts when you meet him. He's probably the 2nd coolest member of the band. James being 1st. Kirk is actually a more of the asshole. It may have had something to do with him being shy or whatever. He's still cool but he's not as cool as Lars was when I meet them at Summer Sanitarium.

Rob is pretty cool when he says something but he tries to hard to be funny.

Jev 05-01-2006 01:36 PM

That's what i always thought about Rob.
There's an awkwardness whenever he says something.

Neoteric 05-01-2006 03:14 PM

he's also awkward the way he walks.

Jev 05-01-2006 03:23 PM

On stage?
Yes.

rip-metal_rules 05-01-2006 09:33 PM

Ok, has anyone ever noticed the lyrical similarities in "Damage, Inc." and "St. Anger?"

Damage,Inc.- "F*ck it all and f*cking no regrets
Never happy endings on these dark sets"

St. Anger- "F*ck it all and f*cking no regrets
I hit the lights on these dark sets"

Anyone know anything abouth this? Any insight, analysis, etc.?

Just thought it was weird.

Bazarov 05-01-2006 09:57 PM

Maybe he's trying the whole Megadeth - Victory thing.

how strange. good point. maybe they were running out of lyrics.

or maybe its just an idea that "St. Anger" was a bloke who worked for a company called Damage Incorporated.

Jev 05-02-2006 12:55 AM

They did it on purpose. I can't remember why but it was meant to be like that.

Wow, weird i never payed too much attention.. I just know that Damage,Inc. is 10X better :)

Jev 05-02-2006 09:29 AM

More than 10 times.
Maybe 100.

MRDuCran 05-02-2006 11:03 AM

I think St. Anger is quite good actually, the song. I've never been too fond of Damage Inc tbh.
I think St. Anger is quite good actually, the song. I've never been too fond of Damage Inc tbh.
I prefer Damage Inc. to St. anger, but not by a huge margin. I love St. Anger the song.

Rattlehead 05-02-2006 11:33 AM

St Anger is great... but Damage Inc. is one of metallica's most musically complex songs. i love it.

PepsiMetal 05-02-2006 11:37 AM
I think St. Anger is quite good actually, the song. I've never been too fond of Damage Inc tbh.
Same here. Damage Inc isn't that good. Although neither is St. Anger. There are better songs on both albums.

Really, most musically complex? I always thought of The Call of Ktulu, probably my favourite Metallica track. Reminds me that I need to listen to it again sometime.

definately, CoK is a great instrumental, but DI is more musically complex. CoK is just very musically decorated, which in a way is complex, but not in the same way as with DI.
