it was just a bit down his trouser leg, i got rushed off the bus pretty fast
vomited down the stairs (it was a double decker) onto my friend's head woke up the morning with my pants removed but my jeans still on, the pants were stuffed down my trouser leg and i found myself in a fb relationship with the bff of this girl i had slept with and then ignored for several months WHY THE FUCK DID SHE ACCEPT also there was an entire sliced loaf of bread strewn about the sofa where i was sleeping i had never vomited from alcohol before that night, it was formative red wine, malibu, captain morgan and the only meal of the day being a hastily snarfed pizza stolen from lupus girl
That shit cray. Mixing different kinds of alcohol can end up pretty nasty too.
he's the guitarist for Miles Davis, did the guitar on Bitches Brew
and my friend (whose idol is Miles Davis and loves McLaughlin's work on Bitches Brew) says that the rest of McLaughlin's work sucks. that's the reason I've never checked him out
You shouldn't go by rumors, you should always use your best judgement especially when it comes to an art where humans express themselves as an individual. Everyone has their own opinoins/tastes really, and that aura of ones preference contaminating someone elses views about a topc far from trivial can be forcing something upon someone or thing that deserves to shine in it's own shape or form.
Liking this.
I could listen to this band for the rest of my life and never get bored. They're a fun, uplifting band and their music always puts me in a good mood. But that's just me of course. |

Yeah, I just found out it was a playlist on Youtube, so the next song started playing and I just left it playing. Very catchy.
yeah I know I'm not 12yo if I had to pick between listening to music that my friends recommend to me and music that they specifically tell me they hate I think I'm going to listen to the music that they think is good. Especially since he understands music on a deeper level. There is lots of music I want to listen to so I have to listen to some people about what is good and what isn't. Everyone does that; don't act as if you listen to everything that comes out ever and that's how you make your opinion on it |

Yeah, just saying it's an overwhleming amount of work he's put out, it's so varied that it takes context and attention to the albums over the years, miles did choose him. It makes sense though, really. I never let anyone cloud my mind or taint my collective unconscious about what I should or shouldn't be listening to. I post my tastes on last.fm thread and if everyone on the planet laughs at what I listen to, it makes me laugh becuase they don't know my taste, nor would that ever, as long as I'm alive, alter the songs I listen to. I don't need to impress anyone other than my soul. It is what it is, and I love it. |
I agree
but I never said that I can't like something because my friends don't I said I never checked it out because he made it pretty clear it wasn't worth my time |
I know dude, I read your post. Check it out then see for yourself.
|
still, check it out, i mean you mustve checked out mahavishnu right
|
then maybe electric guitarist and my goals beyond and go forward in time if it suits you
|
Popped bottles last night. Hung ova. Just found a oh henry in my flippa k jacket and remembered a surreal moment I had when I saw a dozen or two of the bars spread across a random booths table. Going out for dim-sum soon.

mhmm not a big fan of too much jazz fusion I'll have to give them another shot though |
not a big fan of too much jazz fusion
nor i mahavisnu are among the exceptions i mean jazz fusion is theoretically pretty cool it's just it often kinda resembles the amorphous mid tempo funk that inexperienced and apprehensive players settle into when they're jamming together for the first time |
yeah, and after mahavishnu it wasn't rock jazz indian fusion anymore it was fusion fusion from tonnes of different styles almost, it wasnt fusion as people would call it the 'f-word'
|
if your fusion doesn't sound like the contortionist i don't wanna hear it
|
i just remembered the band pain of salvation
have to crank some of that on for nostalgia's sake |
I like Return to Forever
