I'm one of the people who thinks that Abbey Road is their best album. The album that I think it's a bit overrated is Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Yes, it did a lot for the music scene, but it's hardly their best. Sgt. Pepper is basically a McCartney album, he really was the one being creative at that time, and Lennon was writting some of his worst stuff (I despise Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, personally, I find it boring and redundant). None of the band members were at their best, and the most interesting song in that album is the one that people overlook the most; Within You Without You.
Now in Abbey Road the band was at its best. Finally Lennon began to write again as he did, McCartney has his best bass playing on that album (Something and Come Together), Harrison has his most popular and best composition of basically his whole songwritting career on that album. Even Ringo has his best song there, though it shows he wasn't a very good songwritter to start of with. And the last half of the album is brilliant. It also contains the best vocal harmonies by the band (Because and even Sun King is a testament to this). That's why I think Abbery Road is their best album. Though the The Beatles (White Album) is my favourite. |

Yes, I suppose that's why we are humans, eh?
|
The White album has to be my favorite.
|
I've been trying to record "Friend of the Devil" on the recording software I downloaded off of Ramsey's thread. I'm trying to add the opening solo right now.
The White album has to be my favorite.
Damn right. |
Abey Road just can't compare to it song wise. The White album being a double kind of make it unfair in that way.
|
^ Cool are you going to post it?
|

There are some very weak songs on it. MMT is my favorite Beatles album. |
^ Cool are you going to post it?
Maybe, I'd like to have some time to play around with it first. You guys should all download it; It's really easy to use. |

Sure you can. Quality-wise, of course. There are some very weak songs in the White Album, most of them being McCartney's, but I find it's imperfection to be perfect. It has a little of everything and it's a very interesting album. Of course, While My Guitar Gently Weeps it's there, so that makes for most of the other songs. |

|
It is a book.
I dont know I think Abbey Road is abit overated IMO. People always say its their best album but I've yet to see its greatness.
NP: "Come Together"
Me too. I like Sgt. Peppers or The White Album the best. |

I just rented The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test .
I really want to read that and the Psychedelic Expirence. Doors of Preception was good a little hype'd up but good none the less. Really slow today. :( AIM trading anyone? |
Someone who is around 50 just posted it the Beatles thread... it's just so awkward...

I talk to my parents about their era of music, it's not that akward. I'm sure most of us do too. |

I think for him it's awkward to see that teenagers listened to the Beatles and not rap music. |
You can download that show and to others off their website for free, but their not available yet. I think you get to choose. Im not sure though. The only notice you get is sometimes that 'we will play it within the hour' and right before the song, they tell you to call.
Some dude today got an Eagles box set i think, after hearing I am the Walrus |
No one here likes Revolver?
Love Revolver. I find it so much better than Rubber Soul. Really a fine album. |
Revolvers a great album...but it does go through some competition with Rubber soul. I like Revolver better though, just better songs.
Sgt. Peppers i think is their best, next to the white album maybe |
I really like Rubber Soul.
