Once my dad waved to Steve Howe, and Steve Howe waved back
/family history I like "Because" and "Sun King" the most (this week) Sun King is just so relaxing... maybe it's cause the first time I heard it I was lying on my back on the beach in august, I thought the crickets were in the grass |
Sun King was THE song that got me into The Beatles.
Those don't even rank top 3.
1. Octopus's Garden 2. Here Comes the Sun 3. Maxwell's Silver Hammer
No, no, no, no. Now that I think about it I Want You (She's So Heavy) > Something 1. I Want You (She's So Heavy) 2. Something 3. Mean Mr. Mustard Come Together and Maxwell's Silver Hammer are runner-ups. |

A song by Harpers Bizarre from 1969, "Witci Tai To" "59th Street Bridge (Feelin' Groovy)" was their biggest hit, they covered Simon's version, and made it a huge hit in '67. |
just voted for morse in group d. beck will get through anyway.
abbey road songs: 1. because 2. golden slumbers/carry that weight/ the end 3. because |
Favorite Abbey Road Songs:
1: Here Comes the Sun 2: Polythene Pam 3: Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End (especially the End) My mom waved like a maniac to Ringo Starr during The All Starr concert, and he pointed at her. |
The recorded "Come Together" is extremeley boring and unsatisfing, that is when you hear Lennon's live version on Live in New York City.

I'm not going to even answer that. We should have another Classic Rock debate/chat/album trade chat. |

Thanks who's in yours? Were did RocknotRoll disappear to? |
Three members of the Aquarium Rescue Unit.
In the middle is the creative leader Col. Bruce Hampton (You may have seen him on Sling Blade as Morris). To the left is Jimmy Herring (One of my favorite guitar players) and to the right is Jeff Sipe (Amazing drummer). They were one the pioneer Jam Bands (I say that while ignoring the Grateful Dead/Allmans/etc for the reason that they were not labeled that term till Phish, ARU, and Panic came around.) in the 80's/90's. Unfortunately, they some how got forgotten. P.S. Cat Stevens use to be cool. How can such a fantastic musician/writer become so corrupt?
:). |
Thanks who's in yours?
Were did RocknotRoll disappear to?
Huh? I'm right here. |
I haven't seen you in like a month figured you decided to just disappear like DN, GG and LW.

|
No, your just a n00b.
AC/DC and Zeppelin rock
I don't particularly like either of them. :amaze: Anyone have any favorite Dickey Betts & The Great Southern songs or their favorite Dickey Betts Allman Brothers songs? My all-time favorite Dickey Betts songs: 1. "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" 2. "Jessica" 3. "Out to Get Me" 4. "Blue Sky" 5. "Run Gypsy Run" |
I was asked last night what guitarist played with Dickey Betts? Anyone know?
|
I was asked last night what guitarist played with Dickey Betts? Anyone know?
Dan Toler played with him in the Great Southern, I don't know if Toler tours with them now or anything. |
****, I'm a bit late for the Abbey Road conversation, but here's my two cents.
The best song in that album is Something because me and John Lennon say so. After that is Here Comes the Sun and followed by I Want You (She's So Heavy). Oh, and the guitar work on Sun King was inspired by Fleetwood Mac's Albatross... I think that's the song... But anyways, the guitar work was inspired by one of Fleetwood Mac's song. |
I dont know I think Abbey Road is abit overated IMO. People always say its their best album but I've yet to see its greatness.
