Manowar are the loudest band. :smoke:

That suit is pretty bad though. That's how most power metal bands dress though.

Jev 04-24-2006 01:00 AM

Medieval metal sounds fun. Are Metallica turning power metal?
Wonder if Lars can keep up...

I'm Charming 04-24-2006 01:15 AM
Metallica is the reason I picked up a guitar!
Same with me.

First things I ever learned were,

Enter Sandman
Fade To Black
Welcome Home
Can you imagine Lars in an outfit like this?

Manowar

/shudders
Manowar have actually looked worse.
My sources will not reveal what the new album sounds like but in an interview with kirk he described the new album as ''Medieval Metal'' Now whether that means its going to be like the old Metallica or it means it has lots of war type drum fills on the snare ECT: I havn't a clue
I believe Kirk used the term 'Jurassic metal'.

Jev 04-24-2006 06:06 AM

Medieval metal sounds much better.

Spiritofmosa 04-24-2006 08:25 AM

i'm watching the latest metallica vid and i think they are getting old

Sph 04-24-2006 08:50 AM

No shit? I'm looking forward to the next album but I know it wont be remotely as good as their older stuff. Ditching Bob Rock isn't going to save them.

HazMan 04-24-2006 11:07 AM

I was just listening to Creeping Death live, and during the 'DIE' moment i got mad shivers up my spine :D

What are some Metallica riffs that do this to you?

Most of The Unnamed Feeling does this to me.

MRDuCran 04-24-2006 11:17 AM

I was watching Live Shit the other day, and once again I laghed at Kirk during the San Diego show when they were playing Seek and Destroy. It's when James is walking round getting people to sing the chorus after him and he takes it to Lars and he goes "Seek and De...what?", then he sings the chorus again, points the mic at Kirk and he just makes this funny high pitched noise!! I laugh so much everytime I hear that.

When me and some friends saw a Metallica cover band named, Battery, during Seek and Destroy they came out in to the audience and were like "Seek and.." and then because we are dumbasses we did the "Seek and De... who? and the "Vagina" thing. :p

Oh man talk about embarassment. Did people laugh at you?

circlethedrain 04-24-2006 12:37 PM

Yeah, but it was cool, we all had a blast.

Thor 04-24-2006 12:40 PM

Which cover band was it? If it was Shortest Straw then I know that they're pretty sweet.

There's a bunch of Metallica cover bands out there these days.

Oh no way, man. I've realized how much VHS sucks, soley for the fact that I can't skip scenes.

Crysiss 04-24-2006 12:45 PM

Twas a joke you see.:D

My dads old skool, hes the one who gave me that awhile back.

Thor 04-24-2006 02:53 PM

Man, I wish my dad was a Metallica fan. :upset:

Soul_Under_Arrest 04-24-2006 08:05 PM

Here is a nice video.

Orion/To Live is to Die/Ktulu jam (1993)

heavy metal kid 04-24-2006 08:14 PM

That video was really cool, i didn't like Jason's sound at the end of Orion but it was still good.

Jev 04-25-2006 01:08 AM
Man, I wish my dad was a Metallica fan. :upset:
Haha, can't you get him into 'Tallica? worked with my dad, all he needed was NEM.

Britton 04-25-2006 01:13 AM

I should try that. I let my mom listen to it the other day in the car and she liked it. He would actually really like Black album Tallica. Then if I let him listen to The Bob Seger cover he would be sold and there would be no more of this crap about worshiping the devil ;)

blue3 04-25-2006 01:16 AM

That's weird. I got most of my Metallica CDs from my dad.

Shady Ultima 04-25-2006 01:21 AM

My dad likes Sabbath :)

But hates most other metal... just cause it's too loud

Do it!

My parents are into Mod and Punk.

I saw Metallica tickets for £3 in a magazine they have from the 80s.

HazMan 04-25-2006 03:42 AM

I envy one of my friends, he told his mother when he was about 5 that he was sick of his Hickory Dickory Rock cd (apparently rock versions of nursery rhymes) and she gave him the Black album.

Jev 04-25-2006 03:44 AM

Haha that's awesome parenting.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-25-2006 08:10 AM
My parents are into Mod and Punk.
Mod?

Jev 04-25-2006 09:25 AM

Eh wrong thing to say.
He was a mod, listened to stuff like The Who.

Soul_Under_Arrest 04-25-2006 11:21 AM

Well I owe it to my mom for getting me into Metallica. She was blasting KEA and RtL when I was like 5. I owe my dad for getting me into UFO, The Scorpions and what not.

Huber 04-25-2006 12:01 PM

My mom doesn't mind anymore. She's heard Cemetary Gates so many times on my ringback tone that she's admitting it's a good song, and hasn't mentioned anything "evil" about my music since.

Thor 04-25-2006 12:01 PM

My parents can accept Metallica and don't really have a problem if I blast it in my room or anythign because there's no screaming (at least that's what I think). They can't stand much other metal though, even though that's the majority of what I listen to.

Jev 04-25-2006 12:19 PM

My parents don't care what I listen to. Sometmes my dad will go "what on Earth are you listening to" when I play something with screaming in it but he doesn't mind really.

Nepenthe 04-25-2006 12:21 PM
My parents don't care what I listen to. Sometmes my dad will go "what on Earth are you listening to" when I play something with screaming in it but he doesn't mind really.
That's exactly how it is with me. Those exact words.

My mom is very cool. I can listen to whatever I want when we are in the car, usually at fairly high volumes. The only time she ever made me turn something off was Burzum when she had a headache.

Thor 04-25-2006 12:35 PM

Haha, my dad always asks me when I'm in the car with him to put in the CD that I'm listening to on my headphones.

It was pretty funny when I played him Dimmu Borgir. :)

Crysiss 04-25-2006 12:47 PM

thats gotta be cool. My dad was the one that got me into metal:D

Nepenthe 04-25-2006 12:50 PM
thats gotta be cool. My dad was the one that got me into metal:D
Same here. My cousin and him. Got me started on Metallica and Megadeth.

Berk 04-25-2006 02:17 PM

My dad like Metallica.
My mom only like Sandman and Turn the Page.

Joe 04-25-2006 03:01 PM

And I'm back!

My mom really likes Metallica. She's upset that I got to go to the show a few years back and she didn't. Oh well.

So I deleted my music WMA files because I thought I had them all in Itunes format. Turns out I didn't, so all my Metallica concerts that I originally had in WMA are gone.

post 2001 in Metallica thread :chug:

So what's new in Metallica land?

Thor 04-25-2006 03:04 PM

Nothing new, the same ol same ol. Everyone talks about how Metallica's older stuff is better, how AJFA doesn't have enough bass...you get the picture.
