Yeah but the samples are [I]from [/I] the album.

Quality was worse and it was only like 15 second samples from non essential parts of the songs for the most part.

Well, it's black metal - who cares about quality? A few weeks ago Jason was arguing with josh over the fact that production can't influence music this much, because... well, it's metal. I didn't see anyone defending Josh there.

I thought the last 3 samples were really amazing and the rest were between decent and promising

The first song isn't that good, riffing is pretty generic and etc so that first impression might've made people look at the rest of the samples with skepticism

Clips taken out of context relay a bad representation of a product in it's entirety.

And that's just what I remember reading. I just don't see how people make these impressions off listening to samples and then call the album amazing after they've heard the whole thing.

If samples are so inconsistent with how an album will sound, why even listen to them in the first place?

Austin, the samples were just a little taste of the album and for some reason listening to the full songs and the whole things is quite a different experience. I still don't like the vocals as much as the old ones, like I said when I heard the samples for the first time.

So yeah, it's not that hard to understand. Just listen to the damn thing.

Idk maybe I'm not as pretentious as you guys - when I hear a sample of something I usually know whether or not I'm going to like it or not. That's why when I listen to an album I know 1-2 songs in whether I'll enjoy it or not.

All you guys have said is that the samples were a poor representation of the album, which is ridiculous. I find it hard to believe that every single poster in this thread decided it was amazing once they heard the whole thing. I just don't buy it.
