Yeah I played alpha, its a lot better now that they refined it, theres a new arena thats really nice, with creeps in the middle, and you can fight like 6 on 6, and if your short a guy they give you bots.

StruckEverywhere 01-13-2005 11:43 PM

I got my mate to sign up with me for the first alpha, we had such a laugh, it was great fun.

Read it. And laugh. Or not.

StruckEverywhere 01-14-2005 07:25 AM

Good stuff, maybe not quite as good as the punk bible wars, but still excellent.

honkybrewster 01-14-2005 08:52 AM

I need a topic for an article in journalism. Any ideas?

sketchyjoe 01-14-2005 09:02 AM

The misrepresentation of skinhead culture in the media.

Mention the way skins are seen as synonymous with Nazism, the lack of knowledge in the background of the culture and the way everyone thinks ska came from reggae.

Thanks, I'm gonna try and use that. Any good resources I can get?

honkybrewster 01-14-2005 09:14 AM

Thanks. I'd give you rep, but I have to spread some around.

sketchyjoe 01-14-2005 09:17 AM

Also mention how the only original Oi band that was racist was Skrewdriver and they went racist after All Skrewed UP however it was just the same lead singer and the same name and earlier band members have since disowned the band as it is now.
Woohoo! You found the split in a used record shop? Isn't it out of press?
Yeah, it is. That's why I'm so happy that I found it! :)

capri sun junkie 01-14-2005 02:01 PM

Lucky guy.

Yeah, you'd be surprised what you can find if you just look.

capri sun junkie 01-14-2005 02:06 PM

The CTTS stuff is off of their first EP, thats still available on some distro sites. CTTS are very meh... I'd buy it for Pg.99 though.

I enjoy CTTS very much. Pg.99 are better, but I am still really enjoying As The Roots Undo.

capri sun junkie 01-14-2005 02:18 PM

Its pretty funny how popular CTTS have gotten since they have been mentioned on here before. Some people were posting those dumb bulletin things on myspace, and it was where you had to write a band for each letter of your name, copy and post it. Some girl had both Hawthorne Heights and Circle Takes The Square in her name. I think one of those online stores with "punk" in the name has it as a top 40 or 30 selling cd. I forget which site.

Yeah, well, I'm guilty for finding out about them from this site. And, it's not like they're a bad band, they aren't. But I don't think they are the greatest screamo band to ever walk, because people DO say that.

capri sun junkie 01-14-2005 02:22 PM

Yes, exactly. I just prefer more stuff over them, but they're ok.

Yeah, I think so too.

Brain Toad 01-14-2005 02:27 PM

Oh god, that was fun.

Today was a rally, so me and my friends decided to skip it and get a ride from another friend to Mike's House. Once there we ate fried chicken for a bit until Dan came over, offered pot. I decided to make my leave because I'm a ***** and afraid of my mom's consequences if I get caught (which I would) So I decided to leave. That was a long walk from his own to mine, about 3/4 of a mile, and I'm fat. It was worth it though. No rally, and a little bit longer lunch.

Today. I went to school and had little girls play with my hair and straighten it during break, and then I did really well on an algebra test, and then I came home and went on the computer. w00t.

Whats the weather like there now?
Whats the weather like there now?
Wintery.

Its about 50 degrees, plus there is windchill. Really brisk air. Cloudy. A cold Bay Area day.

Well I like them a lot. I don't really listen to any screamo though. Just this band and maybe some other that's screamo but I don't know.
