i havent posted in here in ages. about the st anger production conversation - yea i know it sux. if u listen to st anger with only one headphone u cant hear half the guitar parts and stuff like tht. its really annoyin. i also think st anger is too perfect or sumit its really organized... should be more of a feel to it. altho sayin tht i still really like the album

yeah, panning, so it could play one guitar through one headphone, or mainly through one headphone, and the other guitar through the other
gives a stereo sound

a stereo sound, it sounds fuller
if you play ALL the sounds through equally through both speakers, it just doesnt sound as spread out

its better, just annoying if your just listening through one headphone. which is stupid. so listen through two and reap the benifits :p

lol i cant help it coz i put the headphone up my sleeve in skool so the teachers dont know im listenin to music in class. therefore i cant listen with both headphones, otherwise i wood

I like it because my headphones are working now. My other headphones sucked and when I listened to the live shows you could hear singing and rhythm but no solos (it makes it easy to hear which solos are James', like NEM)

Stereo and panning just makes it more full and more crunchy distorted. You begin to notice it more if you record your own music. My panning is being a little dumb, i have this one guitar harmony part that repeats four times so I go back and forth but for some reason the left is always louder. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Both my Cakewalk and my Cubase I can only hear out of the left until I export it (they were on different computers)

Ah, know what you mean. I used to do that but I got monster headphones but some of my teachers are cool with it if we're doing busy work as long as no one else can hear it.

sixth forms top, you dont have to hide your headphones

put the headphones up your shirt and put your hair over you ears (if you got long enough hair?)

I used to have hair covering my ears, but no so much anymore. I used to do that a lot, I had tiny headphones. They kept breaking though so I found 2 pairs for $40 of monster Nady headphones so I bought them. They're not the best but they're good and loud

We can't even have any MP3 Players, iPods, or anything in our school. Not even at lunch in the cafeteria.

lol some of my teachers are cool with it and others i know i have to use the sleeve and hair trick lol. some skools r really uptight, like my brothers skool dont allow the boys to have hair past their ears and no-one is allowed hair-dye of any kind not even tips. its a full joke.

i hope to god that on the next album lars doesn't tune his drums like in st anger....they sound like fuking bongos. and i agree that the drums should be a little bit lower in the mix.
