Catch 22
Capdown RX Bandits Voodoo Glowskulls and of course, Less Than Jake
the new Catch or the old stuff when Tomas was still in the band? I love Streetlight Manifesto, which is basically half the old Catch and half One Cool Guy. |
Beats me. The album ive gots Keaseby nights.
Streetlight manifesto are awesome :D |
Gimme prince buster over LTJ anyday. I have a catch 22 album 'Washed up and through the ringer', its pretty ****.
|
I'll take Relient K or Blindside over any of them....but it's all a matter of preference.
|
Beats me. The album ive gots Keaseby nights.
Streetlight manifesto are awesome :D
Check out Mad Caddies dude, and of course, the ska staple, Sublime. 311 has some cool ska esque vibes as well, and Chad Sexton is a killer drummer. |
Already got a mad caddies album.
I just got the brand new anti-flag effort. |
ugh, I'm not really one for punk. Though I am a huge AFI fan (their latest 3 albums anyways, basically since Jade joined the band) and a fan of The Offspring, and of The Vandals.
|
The vandals are cool. AFI have always been mint. I own all their albums.
|

Streetlight manifesto are awesome :D
yea, that's their first one, when Tomas was still on. The later Catch is basically rubbish, Alone in a Crowd has a few bright spots, but if you liked Keasby Nights, then Streetlight's probably the way to go. Streetlight's actually basically covering that entire album this year, should come out supposedly early March... I'm looking forward to it. |

So do I, I just don't really listen to the first 3 that often. |
Very proud of ya is awesome.

whats the deal with AFI, I have always hated them but I remember listening to a cd a few years ago that was more punk (NOFX kinda stuff), and the singer was a guy with the highest, most nasaly voice i've ever heard and now they're emo or something and don't even resemble that band I heard, are they they a different band or did they just undergo a complete overhaul? |
seafroggys, whose that guy in your avatar? he looks familiar but for the life of me i can't think of his name.
|
I'm off to a party in Newport Beach tonight with the woman. Predicted return time, 12pm saturday.. wooot!
Ya'll keep it real an shtuff. |

First of all, they aren't emo. No modern music is emo. Emo died years ago. And they are still the same band, but they did what every band needs to do in order to maintain longetivity, they evolved. I own all of their albums, and listening through, the evolution is apparent from album to album. Every album is completely different from the one before it. They are also starting to add alot of electronic elements into their music. But it is still the same band, well actually, depending on the record you heard it may not be. For their 3rd record they got a new bass player, who is the current bassist. And on the 4th, Black Sails in the Sunset, they got a new guitarist, Jade, who writes all of the songs. It's on that album that their style really begins to change and you notice their growth as songwriters. |

dude, i don't care. I didn't ask for a lecture, all I was asking was about the singer with the annoying nasaly voice. |
Some of you guys are clasing bands SKa which cerntainly are not SKA..LTJ for example are very SKA influenced but are more pop punk. Voodoo's aren't SKA
. Sublime are the best DUB band ever. RBF tour of their new album is the best they have been. It's so fresh and it is more them not record labels influencing them I am in a SKA/DUB band Check out fandangle they are an amazing SKA band. "Try lucky for some" here.. http://www.myspace.com/fandangle Check out this post for the majority of SKA bands ever.http://www.musicianforums.com/showthread.php?t=185472&highlight=reel+fish+jake |
