what?
It is quite likely that you will be banned before you can be on the forums for a day. If you really need advice here goes: read more, post less

slowhand 03-23-2005 08:30 PM

ATMP is the best Harrison album and the best solo Beatle album. Not even John Lennon can attest to doing something of ATMP's magnitude, and for a while Harrison was the famous one. Of course, Lennon's trials in America, McCartney's continuity and Harrison's retrieval(sp?), has outshadow his true abilities to today's generation.

I think Harrison has a very underrated solo career. Most of the people I talk to don't even know he had one (if they even know who he is).

GTU-Tabz 03-23-2005 08:33 PM

I prefer Brainwashed to all of them. Have you heard that album ? :)

Yes, and it's a very good one. You can hear in those songs that he knew he wasn't going to be in this world for much longer. It's nice that his last work was so strong. It certainly attests to his musical abilities, and for the last times buries the thought of him being less of a songwritter/musician/singer than Lennon and McCartney.

He is on par with them, if not, he surpassed them by his innocence. Harrison is greatly underrated, and people should listen to more of him.

In my school moat of my friends listen to country and rap, but there a small group of us the listen to classic rock and no one knows what we aer listening too, except the poeople who really know the music and not judt wahts on the radio, also about a month ago my family went up to new jersy to see the rest of the family, and most of my cousins up there are in the 20s and 30s, and when i told them i listen to classic rock they are said "good for you, I'm glad your not one of those rap kids." dont ask me way but i felt really good when they said that to me.

I shall check that out.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-23-2005 08:46 PM

Agreed, when the Beatles were going though their last albums (Abby Road, Let it Be White Album) his songs over power the Lennon\McCartney duo songs like "Here Comes the Sun", "While my Guitar Gently Weeps", "Something" tend to be just complete masterpeices. To bad Lennon\McCartney didn't except all of his material.

Brainwashed is good but not better than All Things must Pass.

Has anyone heard Concert for Bangladesh? It stands as one my favorite live albums at the moment.

slowhand 03-23-2005 08:54 PM

I don't know how many times I've said this but... The due solo on the end of While My Guitar Gently Weeps between Clapton and Harrison is just amazing. And of course, Dylan's reapperence to play in this concert is incredible!

Love Harrison to death.

I don't own it but I've heard it, it is really good I recommend it to.......everybody Harrison fan or not.

BludgeonySteve 03-23-2005 09:22 PM

Clapton wasn't all that good at guitar by then. And in some songs they got his tone wrong. But it was good none the less.

I got the Woodstock DVD decently. It's awesome.

I love that DVD I think that instrumental jam Hendrix did was the perfect way to end it.

I *think* I've heard it but I don't remember it all too well. There's a slight chance I'm just thinking of concert for George.

I learned the into to Crazy On You by Heart yesterday. Even if you don't like Heart, you gotta admit that is one cool intro.

I'm going to pack...I'm leaving for Spain tomorrow morning. Don't miss me too much!

See ya guys..have a good easter break!

^Read it, if you haven't. Very interesting, and Don Mclean was a great writer. He must have spent a year on that song.

Ironic...i just learned the Woodstock Star Spangled banner guitar solo by hendrix. I think im close...considering ive never heard jimi actually perform it before, but when i memorize it, i just need to get to tone down, which i usually dont have a problem doing.

How much did that cost?

Badmoon 03-23-2005 09:59 PM

Festival Express > Woodstock
