I don't know if he admitted. But there are some rumors that go as far as him using studio drummer because he couldn't play double bass that fast on Dyer's Eve.
He played faster than that on the drum battle he did with Jaymz on the Live Sh1t DVD. |
Yea i know, but people love coming up with rumors. Espeically about metallica.
Ride The Lightning is my favourite old school Metallica. Its got such an evil polish to it thats lacking in their other releases.
Yea I agree. Call of Ktulu, FWTBT, fade to black, creeping death, all have that evil atmosphere. The riffs are that way too. |
Ride THe lightning, And Justice ... best albums ever by 'talika
|
That's odd.
Normally it's after The Black Album that people say that.
His postcount = his I.Q. Hes a noob so hes opinion isnt considered for another 1000 posts :p |

Yeah but he was dead afterwards. |
Anyone heard Mastodon's Orion cover yet? It's awesome!
|
I didn't like it.
|
Oh, why's that? It's essentially the same song, only dropped down a whole step.
|
Mastodon's Orion sucked. They completely ruined it for me. The bass wasn't as loud as on original, and guitars during the interlude thingy sounded really messed up.
I think DT's cover of it was better, I forgot though/ |
Well it sounded "messed up" because it wasn't in the same tuning. They hit the right notes for being tuned a whole step down.
|
Yea probably. They should have done in same tuning then. Cause you can't really switch between tunings and expect songs to sound great in each one. I thought's Trivium's cover was best, although not by far. I didn't think the CD was any good.
|

I personnaly thought that Triviums was a little too similar to the original. Like they didnt really make it their own. But yeah the CD wasnt overly great. Battery was my favourite coz I love the dist guitar tone on it. |
trivium's cover wasn't musically imaginative, but it was good, and i liked the vocals. Menseed's TTSNB was good, but it pisses me right off that the drummer tried to show up Lars in it.
yeah, the bass should have been louder in Mastodon's Orion, the solitary bassline in the middle of the song is just wonderful. |
Anyone heard Mastodon's Orion cover yet? It's awesome!
along with Battery, they are the best song on that album. |
Fighstars cover was a revelation IMO
|
along with Battery, they are the best song on that album.
na, Battery yes, but na orion. allthough it is good, MOP owns it it, IMO. so does Sanitarium. i don't like the emo-esque vocals with the sissy backing singing, but i love it when he screams: "no, no no, leave me alooone!" allthough i don't like Hardcore at at all, there's something about the more metal and screaming bands that kind of catches my ear. i love hearing a sissy emo hardcore voice sing, and then hear it get torn up by a truly raw screaming rampage. like, for example, the Sanitarium cover(who is it? BFMV?).
Fighstars cover was a revelation IMO
yea, you can see they have talent, but they waste it on gay hardcore bollocks(haha) |
What in your opinion is the best part in a metallica song ever?
I would say the intro and the buildup to the thrashy part in Battery. That bit is amazing, and when the electrics kick in it defines metal for me. |
I like the DIE part of Creeping Death the best. However there are so many good moments, its hard to seperate one from the others.
|
just list favourites then
|
The Die part in Creeping Death
The Drum Beats in Sad But True The slower solo in Master of Puppets The intro to Fade to Black and For Whom the Bells Toll The intro solo to One Those are probably my top 5. |
Orion, Damage Inc, Blackened, One, Battery, Ride the Lightning,The Call of Ktulu and Dyers Eve.
Those are my favorites, as far as the best song i would say Orion. |
i am refraining from singling out 'tallica songs... it would take me hoursseeing as there isn't one of their songa that i don't like, and toooooo many that i love.
The Die part in Creeping Death The Drum Beats in Sad But True The slower solo in Master of Puppets The intro to Fade to Black and For Whom the Bell Tolls The intro solo to One Those are probably my top 5.
yeah taht's a good one. the FtB intro owns, and the NOP slow solo is lovely. |
top 5
1. Intro to Ride The Lightning - Its just so evil, foreboding and downright awesome. 2. Fade to Black first solo and verse rhythm - The acoustics are so beautifully depressing. 3. Creeping Death's breakdown at 3:40, the die bit. 4. Wherever I May Roam - where the electrics come in at 0:29 5. The Outlaw Torn riff at 0:29 |
On that Kerrang album I thought Trivium did the best cover. I thought Mastodon screwed their cover. And fightstar are frickin awesome. I love that dudes voice and I thought the double bass in it really helped the song out.
Most of the other bands seemed kinda avarage to me. And don't diss someone just because they don't like the same album as you. I really don't care that much for the Black album either. It's almost too mainstream...but hey that's just me. You wanna knock my I.Q now too? |

1. Fade to black- the whole song
2. Solo on Ride the lightning 3. The slow part on MoP 4. The last minutes of Orion 5. Intro of Seek and destroy |
1. Fade to black- the whole song
If I hear that one more time at guitar center, with kidiots trying to "one up" each other.
I'm gonna go postal.
Learn it behind your head. They won't be able to keep up. |
Learn it behind your head. They won't be able to keep up.
I hate that song. I've heard it so many times, I'll go postal if I hear it again. Only Metallica song worth anything is, One. |
I never liked S&D much either. Never understood why it's loved so much.
|
I never liked S&D much either. Never understood why it's loved so much.
It's flashy and easy to play. |
But it's dull as hell. It's like
"Running, dying" for 3 minutes. |
Slow MOP solo
"Die Die Die" breakdown in Creeping Death Wah Solo in The Outlaw Torn Chorus on Until It Sleeps Intro to Fade to Black Bass wah solos in Call of Ktulu Overdriven bass solo in Orion towards the end Middle part of To Live Is To Die |
MoP interlude
Fade to Black Intro NEM solo at the end Interlude/Slow part in Orion Intro Seek and destroy Intro for whom the bell tolls Intro leads in One, as well as last melodic solo/part thing Melodic solo thingy in creeping death I dont know those are the ones I can think of at the moment. |
When the hell is the new album coming out?
