Grow up and shut up with the emo hating kkthnx. Also, emo is a kind of punk so can't be classed as Classic Rock.
Because he does not like emo he is not grown up or mature? Shut up, people are aloud to dislike genres. I am sure there are genres you hate.
this is late but the beatles more or less invented hard rock with helter skelter.
it was one of the earliest songs that the singer was really screaming his lungs out on.
Yeah, way late. Try a year and a half late.

Don't hate, appreciate.
this is late
This is an understatement.

And hard rock was well-developed by the time The Beatles did Helter Skelter. The Who, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Blue Cheer and others were already in full swing by that time.

I've heard very little prog besides them, Pink Floyd, and Yes. I should probably check out ELP.

Lunch 07-13-2005 03:05 PM

I have Tarkus and Brain Salad Surgery, both of which are very cool albums. You can get them from me on AIM whenever if you want.

I thought emocore was short for emotional hard core.
emo was short for emotional.
and screamo was short of screaming emotional.

just be glad you don't live around it.

brettberry 07-13-2005 03:45 PM

Is Emo classic Rock? I hope not, it would ruin the name. I cannot stand emo because to these emoheads emo means to cry. Its all music trying to avoid getting laid in my opinion, or they are ugly and stupid

ATM 07-13-2005 03:46 PM

^What the hell are you talking about?

Lunch 07-13-2005 03:46 PM

We're giving way too much though to something that isn't very important.

ATM 07-13-2005 03:47 PM

He's trying to sound like he knows what he is talking about.

Lunch 07-13-2005 03:47 PM

He usually does.

All are just short for homosexual.

ATM 07-13-2005 03:51 PM

Being closed minded is homosexual.
Being closed minded is homosexual.
Homosexual- attracted to the same sex.

Woodstock 07-13-2005 04:28 PM

Hey Lunch, could you please upload Spirit's s/t. I really like The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus.

Lunch 07-13-2005 04:31 PM

I tried to act like I did and like I know a lot about them, but I only have 12 Dreams. It's still great though, enough for me to call them a good band.

Woodstock 07-13-2005 04:33 PM

Yea, I'm really curious about the song that Zep stole for Stairway.

brettberry 07-13-2005 04:37 PM
Yea, I'm really curious about the song that Zep stole for Stairway.
Whatt???? Are you saying Zeppelin stole a song to get Stairway to heaven?

Woodstock 07-13-2005 04:38 PM
Whatt???? Are you saying Zeppelin stole a song to get Stairway to heaven?
Yes, from a song called Taurus in 1968 from a band called Spirit.

magicbus 07-13-2005 04:39 PM

I want to hear what the original is like. Is Spirit any good?

brettberry 07-13-2005 04:39 PM

PROVE IT,
I want proof now!

magicbus 07-13-2005 04:41 PM
PROVE IT,

It probably isn't hard to do.

I also have proof of the original Dazed and Confused (thanks to Schyma), and Bring It On Home also.

There are plenty others, I just don't have all the originals on my computer.
