Yeah, that about sums it up

Hi

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-18-2005 09:35 PM

Madey, how far are you in Angels and Demons?

halfdeadhippo 08-18-2005 09:36 PM

Please define "Angels and Demons" as I've heard that name before, but I can't remember where.

Jom 08-18-2005 09:40 PM

It's a book by Dan Brown, the same guy who wrote The Da Vinci Code.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-18-2005 09:52 PM

It's the prequel to The Davinci Code as well.

Moses 08-18-2005 09:52 PM

Everyone check out Jakes thread about The Odyssey by Symphony X.

Steerpike 08-18-2005 09:55 PM

For a stroll down memory road, I went to the old guitarists' lessons board where I spent a lot of my earlier days. On the first page was a tongue-in-cheek thread by Scarred4Life about stage antics.

Man, watching those purists getting all worked up and huffy was a riot. I was owning people even back then.

ATM 08-18-2005 09:57 PM

How's it run?

Dancin' Man 08-18-2005 09:57 PM

Da Vinci Code = pop book crap

I did not enjoy it.

Anyway, Jake, this song is pretty sweet.

Moses 08-18-2005 09:57 PM

I wish I had a fucking car....

ATM 08-18-2005 10:00 PM
Lovely. I love driving it.
My car is a piece of crap, but it runs so I can't complain.

My priority right now is getting a new guitar.

I'll bet it's astoundingly good on gas isn't it?

EDIT: Oooh my post count is at 911..creepyyy

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-18-2005 10:27 PM

"I can get 70 miles to the gallon on this hog."

Name that movie!

Pete- Glad you're digging the Symphony X song. It's got a very slight tinge of avant garde to it, which adds a very interesting element. Have you read any version of The Odyssey?

And about Dan Brown's novels: They're basically all the same. I mean, you have a nice handsome protagonist in a relationship, either as the novel starts, or they progress into one. The main antagonist is the protagonists boss. The antagonist's hitman is a creepy skinny guy from some other country.

Either way, I really like all of his novels. I'm only halfway through Angels and Demons, but it's shaping up to be another great read. (Same storyline though :p)

Moses 08-18-2005 10:27 PM

Dumb and Dumber?

Leper 08-18-2005 10:28 PM
25mi to the gallon. Not bad. I think it gets 30 highway.
That must come in handy, gas prices are a BITCH right now!

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-18-2005 10:35 PM

No kidding. They're around $2.70 a gallon around here. I've heard rumors of breaking three bucks(quid lmao UK) soon.

:upset:

Moses- w00t, winner

Leper 08-18-2005 10:39 PM

It's over a dollar per liter up here in Canada now..my math isn't good enough to be able to tell who has it worse..

Lunch 08-18-2005 10:40 PM

My crappy Toyota Tercell gets 35+Mpg (highway), but it makes up for that with it's overall suckiness.

NJMetalMeister 08-18-2005 10:43 PM

Gah i hate technology, i have been working on this machine for 6 hours and cant even get windows to install right. First i had a huge issue in the fact that the drivers were too outdated for the SATA hard drive to install windows on (kinda ridiculous considering its all brand new stuff), now that i got that working, it took me 2 hours to reformat the entire hard drive, and now that i got that out of the way, every time i try to install windows it restarts the computer towards the very end of it, and then when it reboots it blue screens.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-18-2005 10:43 PM

My truck is extremely slow. :upset: I mean, we're talking bed full of cement in 2 wheel drive up a muddy hill-esque slowness. I guess it expends less gas that way. :p

Can you will me your computer stuff? :-D

Dancin' Man 08-18-2005 10:47 PM

Subaru Legacy, 96, manual. Decent.

Toyota Carolla, 89 automatic. Not so decent.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v293/CaptainSwank/car4.jpg

If you want to sit through a 2.5 hour reformat just to have the thing not work, sure.

40 for me. I get pretty decent mileage, though. It should improve drastically once I get around to fixing the timing on the cams.
