:p
My thoughts exactly ah well...

Anyone getting anything interesting this Xmas??

Foxfire 11-16-2004 12:04 PM

Well, my birthday is 12 days before Christmas, so my parents tend to add that to what I get for Christmas. :p

For me, hopefully a drumset and some effects...hopefully a couple hundred dollars to go towards a custom or something.

Dunno.

neal_672 11-16-2004 12:06 PM

Wow not bad, got your eye on any particular brand of custom??

Foxfire 11-16-2004 12:08 PM

Dave Pushic.

At the current moment, he can do my dream four for about 1300 if I include the Piezo. If I drop the Piezo, I can get it for about 1000, maybe 950...

Of course, if I can get it for a thousand, I might push it up to a 7-string (which would make it about 1400). Thus, it'd be better than a Buddha Sig and it'll be priced less. :p

neal_672 11-16-2004 12:14 PM

Wow it's alright for some  Never heard of Pushic actually got a link? and btw: Piezo?

I'm getting a BTB406 and a Big Muff Russian, that'll do me fine for the next year or so :thumb:

Foxfire 11-16-2004 12:17 PM

Piezo: easiest explanation I can put it (even though it's probably blatantly wrong) is that it's a type of bridge that picks up the vibrations of the strings at the bridge, and amplifies them, which gives it more of an acoustic tone. I realized that I don't need this tone.

neal_672 11-16-2004 12:20 PM

Ahhhh right i getcha, a 7 string sounds cool, i was gonna get a Conklin GT7 for £450 but i didn't have the money at the time and it got sold to someone else :upset:

Foxfire 11-16-2004 12:24 PM

I got my GT-7 for 473 USD, love it.

G-string's core got unravelled though. :upset: BEFORE the C and F.

Wow ****, at least it's easier to replace than the C and F though...

Some of those DP basses are absolutely gorgeous, if you ever get one you'll have to post pictures/recordings!

Foxfire 11-16-2004 12:29 PM

Hell yeah. He's an awesome guy too. I'm thinking of getting my bass to look like the single cut 7-string on the last page in his gallery.

Christ that'd be incredible, the ones on the last page seemed to have the nicer finishes in my opinion, but i always love natural wood effect, neck through basses. I'd really like a fretless but i need to save for a new amp, only got a 15w peavey at the moment :upset:

Foxfire 11-16-2004 12:36 PM

Same here. I'd put money into a downpayment now except next week I'm picking up a halfstack.

Hey Gav, I'm coming to Boston for a day...

bottlerocket 11-16-2004 03:01 PM

^ When? Where? Why? o_O

It's getting to be New England weather around here...he snowed last Friday night and it's been ice cold since. It's pretty warm today, though (42 deg. F, about 6 C, but that's just a rough guess, for anyone on here who doesn't live in the US).

There's snow and ice around. Ah, I love Boston...:p

Erm, spring break. I don't know anything else. We'll be staying outside of Salem, and we'll come into Boston for a day. Maybe we could accidently bump into each other? I'll keep you posted.... Get it? POSTed? Hahaha!

If you're going to be in Salem, I doubt we'll see eachother (I know you weren't being serious, but anyway). Salem's a good 20 minute ride from Saugus. You'll probably be in Danvers or Rockport or something...

Where in Boston are you going? I highly suggest Fenway Park (that's the die-hard Sox fan in me speaking...), the Duck Tours, the Hancock, and the Prudential.

Boston Common is also really interesting (it's where the book "Make Way for Ducklings" takes a place). Fun fact: It's legal to have a shotgun on the Boston Commons (when Boston was first founded, the Commons was the grazing field. The settlers had to protect their animals from wolves and such, so it was legal to bring a shotgun. To this day the law stands...).

I don't know where in Boston....

You could always drive if you're up to it. It'd be reassuring to meet someone I know there, I hate traveling. Again, I'll keep you posted, and I'll be sure to bring my 12 gauge...

Make way for ducklings kicks asses!!!
