Done and done. Is that an Ibanez from the starter pack thing? I've heard bad things about the amp in that package.

AntiHero- If it makes you feel better, I suck at guitar too. Definitly much worse than you. I am decent at bass though

It's a Yamaha Pacifica. It was good to learn on, but I am ready for something new. I have $600 to spend, so my options are wide open.

Yes. Just not very often because I can't have it plugged in in my dorm room, and playing an unplugged electric gets boring because my strings buzz :(

Disconnection Notice, are you like intent on being a producer or something?

edit- and I usually play my acoustic guitar, I'm more of an acoustic type guy. Although once in a while I gotta crank up my electric and play some blues.

I was just browsing through my Uncles's mixes, and he attached a mp3 called Sound Effects - Science Fiction Effect 3, and it sounds EXACTLY like the begining to an Outkast song.

So weird.

The S-S-H made me think Ibanez. I wish I had 600 dollars.. I wanna get a bigger bass amp.. and possibly a five string.

You can buy a little piece that goes into your input, then just plug any regular pair of headphones into that.

thickasabrick 03-03-2005 06:28 PM

Even though most Yamaha's aren't like "high end" guitars, they really aren't bad at all. I have a Yamaha acoustic I use at work, and I've really grown quite attached to it. I've never played a Yamaha electric more than a couple times though, so I don't have much of an opinion on them....but I did play a Squier for about 2 and a half years.

Most amps have a headphone jack that is the size of a guitar cable, so I have an adapter that I plug into the amp, and then just plug regular cd player headphones into it. No buying new stuff. :thumb:

You need a 1/4 in converter.
Play on your amp with headphones, dude.
Sometimes that dosn't work out very well. It may have just been my headphones, or the adaptor I was using, but I tried it with my bass. No low end at all, you'de have to buy an expensive pair of studio headphones to get the same sound. Maybe it isn't the same with guitar.. But if it is.. That gets boring.

AntiHero: If you need a picture of what the kind of adaptor I'm talking about looks like, I can find one, or take one.

I've never tried using normal headphones with my amp, because my main headphones I use for everything are Audio Technica can-phones

Edit: Which rule, by the way

BoboTheRagingHobo 03-03-2005 06:30 PM

omg u r sooo st00pid d00d!

It can be any kind of head phones, as long as it has the proper jack to go into the amp, but if not an adapter is easy to get.

thickasabrick 03-03-2005 06:30 PM

Magicbus, did you ever get Layla from anyone?

Why, what ever would make you think that?

(and for the third time, this summer I'm going to get myself out there...I think I may work with indie MCs in Chicago who need a producer, and make a few demos on the side to send to record labels).

I just put a sampler disc (from a magazine) into my computer, and Windows Media Player has identified it as ZZ Top - Deguello.

:-/

thickasabrick 03-03-2005 06:37 PM

That's a nice ****in guitar you got there Magicbus...and I have that same amp. You may notice it in the corner of the last pic I posted. I like the effects on it, although I wish you could have more than one going at the same time.

I can send you that song if you want...although I warn you, my computer is soaking in viruses.

Thank you. I like the amp a lot, real cool distortion. My old amp's distortion sounded really bad, like digital.

Is the song the version from One More Car, One More Rider? I'd be happy to get it from you. Thanks. :thumb:

Bartender 03-03-2005 06:40 PM
ZZ Top is good nub.
Yes, but the disc has something like seven more tracks than Deguello, each of a different strain of extreme metal.
