I always listen to the music my friends play without really complaining for hours on end, but when I ask if they can play one metal track that I think they might like (because they used to listen to metal as well, but ostensibly grew past that immature stage), they roll their eyes and start complaining immediately. With the exception of a few friends, that is.

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:24 PM

he also couldn't understand why i found a kid who never goes to local shows namedropping bad local bands that broke up 5 years prior was funny to me

i think nate has some really weird ego issues

NEEDTOPOST 11-09-2011 12:25 PM
how is that a stupid thing to say
because its pointless to both say and convince yourself of

like literally pointless unless your an ass

"i hate dubstep"

"i hate vegetables"

"i hate every shade of blue"

"i hate all fish"

"trees are the fuckin gayest, all of em"

illmitch 11-09-2011 12:26 PM

yeah thats a really good comparison

you really outdid yourself this time

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:26 PM

can we not have you trying to prove how much better your perspective is right now?

like it's really gay and you get into adb-like fits

NEEDTOPOST 11-09-2011 12:27 PM
can we not have you trying to prove how much better your perspective is right now?
does it scare you

illmitch 11-09-2011 12:27 PM

if i had said something objective like "all dubstep sucks" you might have a point but i don't think you can really get mad at someone over a fucking opinion on music

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:28 PM

it annoys me and i kind of get second hand embarrassment

and yes, it scares me a bit

Haz 11-09-2011 12:28 PM
Well, if you're gonna have a party where music is played, it sucks if some people are gonna cry like babies whenever one single, mild metal track is played in between loads and loads of boring dubstep, electro and pop music, which is what most of my friends have started listening to.
the opposite is true with some parties I have been at, too :p

remember this ridiculous bender my friend went on for 3 days where the only CD was Metallica's ...And Justice For All

I can't possibly describe what it was like seeing bricklayers wearing wine boxes on their head moshing to Blackened for the 50th time

NEEDTOPOST 11-09-2011 12:29 PM
if i had said something objective like "all dubstep sucks" you might have a point but i don't think you can really get mad at someone over a fucking opinion on music
its a stupid fucking opinion, thats what im trying to show you

just as opinions on anything can be stupid

like in my opinion the holocaust ruled and "i hate all charitable organizations"

illmitch 11-09-2011 12:30 PM

that's not really a rational argument

you're trying to compare a style of music to the slaughter of millions of people

fingers mccoy 11-09-2011 12:30 PM

buttery biscuit BASS

NEEDTOPOST 11-09-2011 12:31 PM

actual it literally is a "rational" argument

NEEDTOPOST 11-09-2011 12:33 PM
buttery biscuit BASS
thank god for you, fingers

xMalcolmXx 11-09-2011 12:33 PM

i hate dubstep. i dont care if you yell at me its true

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:34 PM

i can get into some dubstep if im high enough

NEEDTOPOST 11-09-2011 12:34 PM

ya malcolm but i just want you to know that i understand the real reason why you think its true

fingers mccoy 11-09-2011 12:34 PM

metal is horrible at parties

changing the party music to mors principium est is just as bad as walking in and turning the tv over to the porn channels

NEEDTOPOST 11-09-2011 12:35 PM
i can get into some dubstep if im high enough
shut up, theyre just posts, no big deal

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:36 PM
metal is horrible at parties
depends on the crowd
changing the party music to mors principium est
that band blows, there's one huge flaw
is just as bad as walking in and turning the tv over to the porn channels
my one friend does this at parties, it's hilarious

i wish she didn't move the other side of the state :(

Haz 11-09-2011 12:37 PM

brother fights brother they butcher each other
sons and daughters incestuously mixed

Tyler 11-09-2011 12:38 PM

i put manowar on at a party once and the room filled up pretty instantly

Morumbar 11-09-2011 12:38 PM
metal is horrible at parties
You guys only post this shit because you don't even listen to rock or metal yet post in R&M because the forums are mostly dead apart from this place and the pit.

fingers mccoy 11-09-2011 12:38 PM

manowar, if i recall, is relatively good party music by the standards of the genre

xMalcolmXx 11-09-2011 12:38 PM
ya malcolm but i just want you to know that i understand the real reason why you think its true
i because i am who am

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:39 PM

the lack of understanding of demographics here is astonishing

i mean have we not learned a single thing from brent shannon?

RouteOne 11-09-2011 12:39 PM

it really does depend on the crowd

I've been to parties where metal is played and everyone was cool about it

Generally the music played at most parties is pretty terrible imo

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:39 PM

agreed

xMalcolmXx 11-09-2011 12:40 PM

party rock anthem transcends all demographics

Tyler 11-09-2011 12:41 PM

extreme metal is generally kinda awkward as fuck at parties though.

i listen to rock and metal and have always lurked this part of the site

i just don't post in it that much cause most people in this section don't have my kind of sense of humour, but sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze

beans 11-09-2011 12:41 PM

steel panther always seems to get a good response when I've put it on.

RouteOne 11-09-2011 12:41 PM

WE GOT DIX LEIK JEEZUS

can't tell you how many times that terrible song was played at parties in my senior year

RouteOne 11-09-2011 12:42 PM

fingers what metal bands do you listen to

fingers mccoy 11-09-2011 12:42 PM
extreme metal is generally kinda awkward as fuck at parties though.
mostly what i'm getting at

the more glamorous stuff can last about one song before people are like wtf happened

xMalcolmXx 11-09-2011 12:42 PM

i'm dj'ing a 90s themed party on friday

obviously opening my set up with whoomp there it is
