work today was sweet. i danced up a storm.

i had to pay my credit card bill after work ($979.67), and it didn't seem way too bad. then i looked at a wad of $970 at work and i was like :( lame.

dothackRAVE 02-07-2008 03:26 AM

Work today was sweet for me too. It was my first day on the job as Student Security Patrol. Lots of fun writing parking tickets for people, and patrolling campus.

The Mites 02-07-2008 03:27 AM

How did you get in to racing?

dothackRAVE 02-07-2008 03:38 AM
How did you get in to racing?
Well, initially it was a desire to get into that whole drifting scene.

Let's just say I was quite naive to even think about starting straight from drifting. It's like starting double bass when you can't even play the drums yet.

I discovered the long journey to mastery of the car, so I decided to go do stuff. AutoCross, RallyCross, track days, whatever I can get my hands on.

Soon enough, I began to really enjoy all these activities, and boom, I love racing.

Win A Rabbit 02-07-2008 04:06 AM

so, new guitar

and, all my instruments (minus snare drum, don't have my stand currently)

BummerJonny 02-07-2008 05:17 AM

hmm, so the first of march gig is gonna be a strain on my wallet now.

i promised myself i'd buy tomas kalnoky a drink, and now Neil from SB6 wants one as well, cos its his birthday

Drum Phil 02-07-2008 05:20 AM

Two drinks is hardly a strain.

BummerJonny 02-07-2008 05:42 AM

shh, you had a job.

plus i have to fund my jager habit.

i have the evening planned out nicely:

watch sb6, have a drink, watch SLM, have loads of drinks, buy people drinks, get rat-arsed, manage to enjoy RBF as i'm pissed:P

Drum Phil 02-07-2008 05:48 AM

Past tense.

Also, you really shouldnt insult random people on ebay. The account you messaged wasnt mine, so you got reported.

BummerJonny 02-07-2008 06:08 AM

oh well, i never use that account anyways...

Drum Phil 02-07-2008 06:18 AM

I dont even know what you did :p I was just told to pass along the message if i knew you.

BummerJonny 02-07-2008 06:37 AM

something about new rocks being ****...

Snarz 02-07-2008 10:07 AM

So I moved my drumset down to the basement, its a half finished basement with a dehumidifyer(sp?lol)
and its on carpet. The set is faced towards a wall so will it affect the sound by much?

BummerJonny 02-07-2008 10:08 AM

yep. it will. but for practise its not really important.

however, if its only a partition wall as opposed to a wall with solid earth behind it, it'll carry the sound through your house :/

Snarz 02-07-2008 10:29 AM

Well its in the basement so on the other side of the drywall there will be a little bit of wood then the concrete formation then the earth.

BummerJonny 02-07-2008 10:34 AM

ah, thats fine :)

nice ride too

BummerJonny 02-07-2008 10:55 AM

it is :P

the tom holds up better than i thought. i could use the mount that came with it, but its fugly and detunes the drum...

MeaninglessPhoto 02-07-2008 10:59 AM
Not buying Mazdas because they are cheap econoboxes is a thing of the past. Since the new millenium started, Mazda's new image of "inspired, insightful, imaginative" pretty much kicked out the old image.

Go drive any performance category Mazda (MazdaSpeed6, MazdaSpeed3, Mazda MX-5, Mazda RX-8) and you'll find that each and every car has soul and passion put into it.

Thanks. :p

Yes, it's a 2005 RX-8 6SPD MT.

Hey, I like Mustangs too, at least the old ones. The newer ones were gay, though the latest generation seems to have an "X-Factor" about it.

IMO, RX-8 vs Mustang are two different stories. Like comparing oranges and apples.

True that. These days I do AutoCross, HPDEs, RallyCross etc. etc. and the RX-8 seems to have taken it all without complaint. You can throw it into a corner, and it will never bite back.

I didn't buy it for looks. I bought it to race, drift and participate in motorsports in general.

Cool looks, comfort, technologically advanced, brotherhood (this car comes with it's own brotherhood among other rotary heads). These are all just bonuses.
Yeah, the rx-8 seems like a fun car, although I'm sure it would bite back if you were doing absolutely ten tenths. I'm looking to do the same thing myself, thinking about getting a miata or something similar as a track car. Granted it won't be that fast, but it's a rwd car that's is good handling and also is reasonably priced.

Kainen 02-07-2008 01:01 PM

i have to wait a certain amount of hours before i can clock out for lunch.

Pleaseme 02-07-2008 02:40 PM

The lamest thing about that video was the colour inverted still-frames. What was the point, were they edited in to try and make the video more creepy than it actually was? Other than that, yeah it was pretty creepy.

"What you are about to witness is an insight into actual madness." DOOOOOOOM

Sunshine 02-07-2008 02:51 PM

Remember that bike collage I poured my heart and soul into, working for hours and hours day after day?
Someone took white paint and ruined it.

Fuzzy 02-07-2008 03:02 PM

Was it yours or did you submit it to like a public gallery? Or did someone just vandalize it..?

Win A Rabbit 02-07-2008 03:21 PM

I slept in today. :( Got up 20 minutes ago, have to leave for work in half an hour.

I'm bringing my guitar to work today, though. Wicked.

green242 02-07-2008 03:30 PM

You slept in, and are on the computer talking nonsense... haha

SgtPrimus 02-07-2008 03:30 PM

Anyone like the Talking Heads? I found my dad's old "Stop Making Sense" record and it is great. I also found an original print of Black Sabbath's Self Titled.
