Yeah, that song you wrote a while ago, "Maybe Band" sucked.
Nah, some of it was ok. I had ideas and poor execution, but I still like the ideas.

All the stuff I give you works though. Or can be used indirectly to work.

bottlerocket 04-03-2006 01:42 PM

I understand preference and all, that's fine, but what annoys me is that people say they listen to TFOT for the guitar work...

News flash: The guitarists from The Number 12 are a billion times better than the guitarist from TFOT. TFOT is just a scene band who plays on the whole "omfg spazzXcore I'm gunna mosh it up and bust heads like that dude from that crew xBloodxRedxKnuckles does ROFFLE!1!1"

In conclusion, I hate when people say they listen to TFOT for the instrumental work. There's hundreds, nay, thousands, of better bands to listen to for the instrumental work.

I agree 100%, but i have no clue where this entire argument started, unless you jsut started it with that post.

Also,

Permanent Solution 04-03-2006 01:46 PM

I listen to Liquid Tension Experiment for the instrumentalists.

Mute Print 04-03-2006 01:47 PM

Liquid Tension Experiment is bad.

Oh, I'm not arguing...I'm just saying. :)

RRG > NSN

Both are awesome albums, though...

I'm going to work. Later!

Yes. But they are pretty awesome.

weerez1391 04-03-2006 01:50 PM

The Number Twelve Looks Like You is awesome. The Fall of Troy are ok, but they're overrated by the scenesters.

The instrumentalists aren't though.

Gav: see ya

BridgeToSolace 04-03-2006 01:51 PM

Put On Your Rosy Red Glasses is better.

The lead of Fall Of Troy is increadible considering how young he is, and the fact that he plays everything live, with a loop pedal, WHILE singing and screaming. And really, a lot of the guitar work is pretty darn good.

Who the **** cares if Number Twelve's guitarist is better? You know what? http://www.angelo.com/ is better than Number Twelve's guitarist. Leagues better. Does that mean that you shouldn't appreciate Number Twelve for the guitar work? No at all.

And really, if you dismiss The Fall Of Troy as "just another scene band", you're very stupid. Or very ignorant of the scene.

The Fall Of Troy is so not a mosh band. If you want a mosh band, try http://www.purevolume.com/blackmyheart.

Truth. It's awesome to watch him live.

Also truth. They draw a lot of scene fans, but they really aren't a "just another scene band."

Ive only heard 4 or 5 songs by TFOT. It wasnt terrible, but its not something i would spend my money on.

/me has seen Michael Angelo Batio play live in a small shop whilst about a metre away from him.
I also got to meet him, shake his hand and just generally talk to him for a bit.

Best school trip ever.

Sorry man but that was a pretty arrogant argument. The Fall Of Troy have written some amazing songs, and should be recognized for more than their guitar work.

So I'm still excited about starting my vinyl collection. I feel totally ridiculous to be as excited as I am, but oh well.

Agreed. If you've ever seen The Fall Of Troy, you'll know how great and fluent they are as a band. They change up sections of their songs and improvise during live sets for no reason, and even then they play songs brilliantly.

Then again, I never liked #12. I thought they were bland and their style of 'metalcore' made the walls of my bedroom bleed. So I guess I'm biased

No, a 7:00 instumental, that bascially sounds the same throughout, other than gets boring a lot quicker than your average album.

Yeah.
Him playing a double neck guitar that goes off to both sides in a V shape was amazing. He was just there tapping, and doing it over the back of his head and stuff.
I mean, I'm not one for really fast guitarists like that, but it was impressive as hell.

Meh, they change it up, though they tend to stick on a motif longer than necessary.

My dad used to have this one that was really awesome. It hooked up to surround speakers and it was great. Then, he ended up selling it at a yard sale for twenty bucks:angry:

Ps. What records do you have?
